It’s going to interesting finding out what the team will look like next season as Magnus & Klaudius age out of juniors and what effect if any home advantage will have since Füssen will host the next World Juniors. The Germans are more than capable of getting over the hump & getting that historic, elusive Worlds gold. This is how I showed up to Saturday league tonight. Wore my new Swedish hoodie with the usual earrings & bracelets, but made sure to bring my German Mickey ears. It’s no secret I’m rooting for @teamkapp to win gold at #WJCC2022 so Ate had to make sure I wore something to support #TeamD & last week taught me the hard way that #Germany pants is NOT the way to go LOL. We interrupt the German curling love fest that has exploded on my IG the past week (because Ate is totally rooting for her Adings to win the World Juniors) to remind folks amidst all the shock & controversy both on social media and IRL in person that Sweden is still number 1 in my heart. I don’t think there will ever be a team that can dethrone @teamniklasedin off the top of the ridiculously high pedestal they’ve been on since February 2018, and no other women’s team comes close to @teamhasselborg in my book either. . . #ohnoshedidnt Oh yes she did. Alas, my 2018 Worlds jersey is lonely - I’m missing jerseys from the 3019, 2021 & 2022 Worlds & I don’t think I’ll ever have a shot at one of the 2022 Olympic jerseys even if they come up for auction. After my birthday trip to Vegas my status as Team Edin’s number 1 super major hardcore fangirl has been cemented, but unfortunately that doesn’t come w/ perks of getting jerseys saved/earmarked for me the way curling clubs and charities do. I have no shot at the 2022 jersey up on auction for Kurling for Kids right now & I’m hoping & praying I have luck w/ the summer one… IYKYK & please for the love of God I need all the luck I can get for July #forpersonalreasons . .
When I found out one of the new OC curlers was #Norwegian I knew the fancy pantalones had to come out for just a little bit, but I learned my lesson from the Germany pants on Saturday league so I only put on the pants afterwards lol. Rich is married to Gina - one of the Asian women skips during the first week. I hope Gina skips more games. I’m all about #diversity #inclusion #representation & getting more Asian women to embrace skipping. . . What Josh Sutor referred to after Saturday’s game as “German luck” struck again. My superstitious side would say maybe I need a different Germany jacket and we need to keep playing yellow stones; Andrew, my Oskar, thinks it’s all about NOT having hammer & rushing the other team He even bled today & the ritualistic sacrifice didn’t work Hopefully bringing in a ringer sub (Clyde) for the 6/2 game will bring on the W. As much as I want him to sweep all my stones, maybe he should call line& Andrew can sweep - he’s used to it lol. . . Bill, who taught the skips clinic before league, was totally shocked I was wearing a combo of Norway & Germany tonight. He was already like “WHOA WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?!?” when he saw me w/ GERMANY on my chest, I unzipped my jacket to reveal the Norway jersey underneath. He’s used to seeing me all decked out in blue & yellow. I still had the bracelets & earrings, but I’ve been cheering on Germany at World Juniors so gotta represent - Ate loves her Adings & totally believe they can win it all. . .
