Wright asks Edgeworth to play Santa for Trucy and Pearl when they’re little and Edgeworth can’t say no. Trucy of course Immediately recognizes that the man is Uncle Miles because they have the exact same tells. She shares this information with Pearl, very sad to have concluded that Santa is not real.
“Hold it!” Pearls points just like Daddy does. Turns bright red and sits back down in her chair. “That’s… not the only reason right? It could be something else if you… turn your thinking around.”
“What do you mean… That Uncle Miles IS Santa Claus???”
The evidence begins to mount. Silver hair. Red Suit. Is gone for large parts of the year to someplace Daddy says is ‘very cold’. Always brings gifts for them. Dresses up as Santa Every year.
They become Very insistent at school that they know Santa Claus. The other kids Doubt until Edgeworth comes to pick Trucy up from school in his Red Suit with his White beard (cravat) in his red Sleigh (car). They are convinced.
Kids start lining up to give him their Christmas lists and tell him what they want. Edgeworth usually ends up buying one gift and sending it+the list to the family. He needs to spend that inheritance somehow right? This behavior has helped him solve more than one case.
Trucy and Pearl write letters to Santa and send them directly to Edgeworth. (Who they knowis Santa. Don’t worry, we’ll keep your secret!) The fact he Does then give them gifts ‘from Santa’ only strengthens the belief. They make sure to stock up on Christmas candy so they can give it to him throughout the year. The fact he always seems to have a candy cane in his pocket (because of the girls) makes even the adults in his life wonder if its true.
Kristoph points out that it’s a little irresponsible of Wright to let his children believe in fantasies at their age. Isn’t he worried they’ll get bullied? Wright isn’t cause half Trucy’s school sends Edgeworth their Christmas lists. Trucy knows to be cautious around Kristoph but Pearl rolls up her sleeves and has no reservation about telling him that if he Doesn’t believe in he spirit of Christmas he should leave Or Else. Kristoph learns to make himself scarce this time of year.
The girls insist that Wright should Also tell Santa what he wants for christmas. And then one year Trucy catches Wright Kissing Santa under the tree. They debate making it clear they’ll move to the North Pole so they can be together (But I don’t know how to move the whole villiage. Do you think Mr Edgeworth can do that? If anyone can he can!) and asking him to move here so that ‘Daddy can see you more. I think that’s what he really wants this year.’
When Edgeworth gets the Chief Prosecutor position and moves back Trucy calls it a Christmas miracle. (It’s July) Wright is deeply confused. Edgeworth pats her head and says he supposes it is.
