when you realize the reason you can’t stand to hear about people drinking or be around people when they’re drinking is probably because of how your dad acted whenever he’d get drunk but it doesn’t matter because people are gonna think you’re uptight and annoying regardless….. ✌️

Epilogue Refuge:

5 years later…

Shortly after the twins’ birth, Jared and I had a proper ceremony with all of our family and friends in attendance.

Gaia was my maid of honour. Marina, Cole, Danneel, Holy, and Jared’s sister, Megan, were my bridesmaids. Jared’s brother Jeff was his best man. Jensen and Jeff were his groomsmen.

Gaia and her husband Nick had their daughter Cherish the same year we had our twins. Cole, Danneel and Genevive, or Genneelle, as we like to call them. The threesome fittingly adopted triplets, one boy and two girls Wren, Lark & Paloma. They got married the following year on March 3rd. 

Jensen and Holy’s family became a family of 6. Everly joins her older sisters, Katherine, Madeline, and Mackenzie. All the kids are a perfect blend of them.

While Jared and my twins are his mini-mes with a slight tinge of Y/H/C.

Jared smiles at me as he sets glasses of Dr. Pepper and a bowl of popcorn down on our coffee table. We settle to have the yearly watch of our movie. It’s a tradition to watch it on the anniversary of its premiere.

Chapter 8 Forgiven:

2 months later…

Austin Texas General Hospital

Finally, the impending birth of my twins. In the middle of the throes of birth. I hear a familiar voice asking for me. Jared, what the hell is he doing here?

He’s there just as the twins arrive. As soon as the nurse sets them in my arms. Jared is at my side, smiling at the sight of them in my arms.

He is acting way too affectionate for my liking and goes even as far as kissing my forehead.

“So mom, what have you named them?” Nurse Sherry asked.

 “Harlow and Isolde,” I replied.

“Padalecki,” Jared interjects before I can even get my last name out.

I fake a smile at him, not wanting to cause a scene.

“Mrs. Padalecki, they are beautiful. We need to talk later though, darlin’.” Jared whispers into my ear. I feel the heat rising in my cheeks. We haven’t been this close together since we filmed our movie together.

My parents, Gaia, Marina and Cole, file in. They all give a confused stare at the sight of Jared by my side. He insists on Cole taking a picture of us and the twins with his phone.

To the outside world, we look like the perfect little family, but we are far from it. They all take turns holding them. After everyone has left, Jared and I head to his place after his release.

Jared carries the twins and gets them adjusted into his car. After he helps me in. When we arrive at his place, the sound of unholy moans greets us. All we see from our anglel is a sea of red and brown hair. Oh god, I don’t want them to wake up to this. I take the twins to one guestroom. 

To my surprise, Jared already has a nursery set up. It’s gorgeous. Navy and red trim. They made the cribs of sturdy mahogany. Once they settle in their cribs. I make my way to the living room and I am greeted by a half-dressed Genevive, Danneel, and Cole.

Jared is just standing there laughing.

"Seriously, guys. I need to run a tab for the furniture I’ve had to replace.” Jared teased.

“I am surprised you are upset that Gen cheated on you,” I replied.

He doubles over in laughter.

“Is that why you’ve been ignoring me, darlin? Gen is a lesbian. She was about to make an announcement next week. The only person I want to see is you. You’ve been so blind in competing with me you’ve failed to realize I’ve had a crush on you since we first met.” Jared said 

I am too stunned to react. Before I realize it Jared crushes his lips to mine. I eagerly kissed him. A chorus of cheers encourages us to continue. Today ended totally unexpectedly for all of us.

Chapter 7 Do What You Want:

7 months later…

Y/N’s Beach house in California 

I rub my ever-growing stomach and wonder how I got here. Single with a baby on the way. Well, technically, I am still married to Jared and I have never filed for divorce. I haven’t seen him since the movie’s premiere last month. To keep my pregnancy a secret, I didn’t attend it in person. Apart from my parents, Gaia and Marina are the only ones that know about my pregnancy. As far as the media thinks, I’ve gone on hiatus from acting.

As far as Jared and Gen, I’ve still seen pictures of them together online. To my relief, my little tryst with Jared ruined nothing. When the inevitable comes and they get married. He’ll come to me for a divorce. I just hope he won’t see the twins when the time comes. Our relationship would have never worked. We are too different. I hear a knock at the door. Assuming it’s just my weekly food delivery, I hobble towards it. To my surprise, it’s Cole. She stands there with her mouth open at the sight of my stomach. Dammit, I should have checked the doorbell cam. I reluctantly let her in and motioned for her to sit in the living room. 

“So, this is why you refused to see me in person. Now I know the reason you told me to say you were on hiatus,” Cole says unnaturally calmly.

“I am surprised you aren’t yelling at me like I thought you would,” I replied.

She simply shakes her head at me.

“I’ve taken some time to learn boundaries. I assume you will not tell Jared. It’s a shame you won’t. He’d be an amazing father.” Cole said.

“I know he would, but acting our whole lives in front of the kids like everything is fine. It won’t be a suitable environment for them. I am doing what’s best for everyone.” I replied.

“Okay, if you are sure. Now I’ll go order the pregnant lady some food. Chinese this time, right? It’s usually a balance between that and Italian. I saw your post yesterday about lasagna.” Cole said.

“Yeah, thanks, Cole,” I replied with a smile.

We catch up throughout dinner while eating Cantonese chow mein, fried rice, beef ho fun and chicken balls.

Gaia and Marina end up coming over to join us. Gaia is expecting too, only a few months behind me. I know our kids will be great friends, just like we are. Cole’s been dating someone for a year, but she won’t disclose who. She tells us once her partner is ready to tell people, we will be the first to know. It’s good to have a girl’s night. All of us missed it. We might as well enjoy it before the kids come.

Chapter 8:

Chapter 6 Girl at Home:

1 week later…

Cole and I haven’t spoken since that morning. I am still pissed at her for the events that unfolded. I also keep forgetting to take the wedding ring off. Since it’s also being used as a prop for the movie.

Jared and I ignore each other when we are off set, not bothering to even acknowledge the events that happened in Vegas.  

Settling into another day, it is filming. Muscle memory at this point. Jared and I ‌set aside the tension when settling into our roles of Jillian and Killian Eadens.

The only awkward parts are the sex scenes it keeps bringing me back to Vegas. I always have to take bubble baths afterwards to soothe the anxiety. It’ll never erase the memories, though.

It makes me sick thinking when Gen must think of me. I have been a home-wrecker since I married her boyfriend. I broke my own golden rule. Never put someone in the same situation I was once in.

Jared jogs up to me and tries to talk to me, but I won’t hear it. I just got into my car.

As if on cue, Taylor Swift’s ‘Girl at Home’ comes onto the stereo on my way home.

Chapter 5 Backlash:

1 month later….

Dammit, why did I let Cole talk me into coming to Vegas? Why the hell am I drinking mojitos, no less? I am a lightweight. I hope this doesn’t get me in trouble.

Either I am hallucinating from these drinks or Jared is actually here in Vegas. I swore I just heard him.

I see him confidentially walking over to me. Damn, does he look good in the blue shirt and black jeans?

“Hey, darlin’, don’t you look good in the short blue body con dress,” Jared says with a smirk. I just roll my eyes at him.

I get up to get away from him. Cole won’t let me and pushes me into his arms. He pulls me onto the dance floor. Since I have had many drinks, I’ve lost some of my inhibitions. I find myself with Jared’s hands on my hips and me grinding against him. I hear Cole and Jensen laughing on the sidelines.

“Y/N, you want to know a secret? I’ve been dying to check out the wedding chapels here. Want to come with me?” Jared says.

“Sure,” I reply. Since I am so buzzed, I don’t realize the gravity of the consequences of what I just agreed to.

The next morning…

I wake up to a heavy arm strung across my waist. When I realized it was Jared, I let out the loudest scream I’d ever let out. I am surprised it didn’t wake him. That’s where the situation gets worse. Not only did we sleep together, but there was a silver ring on his finger that wasn’t there before. I notice a similar one on my finger. Oh no, what the hell did we do last night?

I immediately called Cole to shout out to her for bringing me on this trip. I feel Jared’s lips on my neck, distracting me from my rage.

That’s when I come to realize we are both still naked. I hung up the phone. When I look at him, my mood changes. I am mesmerized by his multi-spectrum hazel eyes. I make the first move and place my lips against his.

Jared flips me over and grips me tightly. He is anything but gentle; he sucks a hickey into my next while he fills me.

He continues to kiss down my body as he ruts into me.

It’s been an hour and I’m still sore from last night. I don’t think I have another orgasm in me. Jared proves me wrong time and time again.

Jared isn’t taking it too lightly either; he’s been swearing in his trailer.

I regret letting her take over while Grace is on maternity leave. She had to leave early because she had to be on bed rest for the last of her pregnancy. With her preeclampsia, it’s best for her and the baby.

“ Let’s get this over with,” I grumbled on my way to the set.

I stop in my tracks as I see Jared standing over by the medical cabinet. I can’t deny how well built he is. Damn, I wonder what his workout routine is.

I shake off my thoughts and get into my character’s headspace.  

I walk over to the cabinet to fish out the supplies. I failed to notice a presence behind me.

“Having trouble finding stuff, Dr. Marrs?”

 “No, I am not Dr. Eadens. Now let me grab the stuff.”

Killian doesn’t like me ignoring him. So he spun me around to look at him.

I bite my lip in response to seeing him shirtless.

He smirks in response to my reaction

“Do you like what you see, sweetheart? I was on the way to grab fresh scrubs when I saw you duck in here.”

I don’t respond, I just try to bolt for the door Killian blocks my exit.

He clicks his tongue at me before closing the gap between us.

 Suddenly, his lips are on mine. It’s like all the tension between us melted away with one kiss. 

We both methodically remove each other’s clothes.

Killian flips me around and I find my bare back pressed against the door. 

I wrap my legs around him to pull him impossibly closer. He slides his hands down to my hips and fills me in one go. It doesn’t take us long for us to simultaneously orgasm.

I continually harshly stab my chicken Caesar salad with my fork, pretending it’s Cole’s face. I can’t believe she agreed for me to work on a movie with Jared.

My friends Gaia and Marina look over at me. Both of their blue eyes filled with concern.

“Calm down, Y/N. I think Cole was trying to get you to branch out,” Gaia says. She always tries to be the voice of reason.

I sigh as I set my fork down.

“I don’t have a problem with branching out. It’s doing sex scenes with the enemy I have a problem with. I guess it fits us perfectly, though. Medic Without Desire’ is about competing ER doctors married to their work. One night, they get stuck in the hospital after their last round during a power outage. Dr. Jillian Marrs and Dr. Killian Eadens have no choice but to work together to keep the hospital running. Things get heated in more ways than one,” I replied.

Gaia doesn’t push the topic further. She’s known me long enough to know when she shouldn’t push the subject further.

I hear my text tone chime. I roll my eyes when I see it’s Cole. She says the studio wants me down there asap. 

“Okay, Cole needs me to head down to the studio. It was good catching up with you, Gaia, and Marina. Same time next Sunday.” I replied.

I grab my bag and then call a taxi.

I just hope I am not making a mistake taking on this movie.

Chapter 4:

Chapter 2 Forget It:

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing from what I recognize as Cole’s ringtone. She’s been trying to call me all morning. A knock at the door awakens me from my sleep after I hit ignore.

I grab my robe and throw it over my nightgown. I am not surprised Cole is there. 

“Have you seen what’s been floating around online?” Cole asks.

“It’s 7 am, of course, I haven’t.” I retort.

She fishes out her phone and shows me an article.

I feel the heat rise in my cheeks. It’s Jared and I sharing that heated kiss from last night. “Jared cheating on Gen with his rival Y/N" 

"For God’s sake, who took this? I better call my Pr to take this down,” I retorted. I hit speed dial 3 on my phone. The last thing I need is for my image to be ruined by people calling me a home-wrecker.

Cole walks nonchalantly into my kitchen to make coffee while I was on the phone.

“Thanks. You’ll get it down by tonight. You are a lifesaver. Yeah, we are still on for tomorrow.” I replied.

I breathe a sigh of relief. 

I am just about to make breakfast when another knock at my door interrupts me.

To my surprise, I find Jared standing there in a black t-shirt, jeans with a leather jacket and dark brown hair perfectly in place. He also has my favourite flowers in his hands. He has an apologetic look on his face. I don’t give him a chance to talk. I just slam the door in his face.

The last thing I need is another scandal on my hands. I just finished cleaning up this one. 

I shouldn’t be treating him like that, I know, but someone once cheated me on. I vowed to never put someone in that position.

Chapter 3:

Chapter 1 White Dress:

I don’t know how I let Cole talk me into coming to Jensen’s birthday party. It’s not like he and I aren’t friends. His best friend who I don’t get along with is Jared Tristan Padalecki. 

Now I am sitting in a corner drinking Dr. Pepper to calm myself down.

Cole drags me over to play a game of truth or dare with them.

“Okay, Jared. Truth or dare?” Cole asks.

“Dare,” Jared replies with a smirk as he looks over at me.

"I dare you to kiss Y/N,” Cole says sinisterly. 

Jared strides over to me and closes the gap between us.

He grabs my face and pulls me into an intense kiss. On instinct, I kiss him back. Then he suddenly pulls away. I am breathless and flustered by the time he lets go. Satisfied with my response, he strides back over to where he was standing with pride.

Cole looks over to me with a grin on her face.

I wonder why I let him do it.

Jared and I have been rivals since we were teenagers, constantly competing for the same characters. One of my goals in my career was to smash gender barriers. So I’d try out for any role I could. I’ve succeeded multiple times in doing so.

The rest of the night is uneventful. I eventually called an Uber to get home. I immediately had to shower to scrub the feeling of Jared’s lips against mine. After all, I can’t catch feelings for someone like him. Everyone knows he’s dating Genevive.
