My new icon, swipe for outfit detail! Have been working on this for months between classes and Patreon. Rina Nukumori works for the Scotland Yard in my original Secret Service story, ANGEL IN BONDAGE. Her father, the Met Police Commissioner, is quite abusive. I’ll introduce her and Vercy as well as talk about how Yiuna (the blonde-haired agent I’ve drawn in other posts) and Vercy met in a military academy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Only 2 chapters are out, but it’s enough to make people cry by the end of the 2nd chapter, which is a oneshot flashback between Yiuna and her lover. More hand studies. To go completely off topic, sometimes I wonder if a specific thing I’m looking for in life will ever come to me.⠀Because so far it hasn’t. Too bad I can’t get more specific than that because this post is public, after all.

On another note, I’ve been trying to write Chapter 3 of ANGEL IN BONDAGE and it has been evading me - I really want every chapter to be emotionally impactful so perhaps that’s why I’ve just been adding to different areas of my manuscript, hopping around. I still have the problem of Ch. 3 being too vague and high-level, and have trouble forming details. This is a recurring problem for me, so if anyone has tips, please drop a comment hahah.. Otherwise there may be art of Yiuna and Candy coming up soon, please look forward to it!

Grayscale to color face study in Photoshop! The facial structure and eyes got a lot of attention. Was studying asian faces to prep myself to draw my story characters from Angel in Bondage (like Rina, who is at least part Japanese). This is my first ever Patreon reward - patrons got the full-size art, PSD file with layers to study, video with voice-over explanation, and some bonus sketches. Hoping for the best as I get used to making monthly rewards.

Not sure why, but when I posted these hand studies on Twitter, it blew up more than my other art that I try harder on..that’s social media, huh. I feel I need to draw hands more, especially since they can really add to a gesture when drawn right. I’ve drawn around 800 faces but not nearly as many hands.⠀

Art trade with a friend! This is her OC, Alphie (swipe for digital closeup). Added some washi tape as framing and put it on a gold trimmed board (the strawberry is my digital painting too)! Printing was a pain though since the colors didn’t turn out quite right. I let Yiuna sleep in this sketch as I finished past 4am.. Some days hurt more to get through than others, and sleep is release I think a lot of us need more of. I release a lot of life pain in writing AiB and art, which I think a lot of other creatives do as well.

I don’t think non-artists realize just how many poses artists do for their own drawing reference (or otherwise ask our friends to do some pretty extravagant poses for us hahah). This is my icon’s art that I should have released sooner…I cropped Yiuna’s pose in this one but I did do my icon’s full pose in front of a mirror, which makes things faster than drawing from imagination. Capturing the right feeling/energy/mood can be a challenge at times, especially if you have use one hand to shoot a picture, wish I could clone myself sometimes. I highly value the emotion in a lot of my art, so the gesture is important. I dance for fun and it definitely helps with posing too, hahah.
