Acorn NecklaceandHorse BroochfromHuronValleyVintage

It was in a priority mail box, so I though It would be very simple, but then I opened the box, there was an another box with a lovely red ribbon.

image

Inside was all padded and my new jewelries were perfectly secured. I didn’t really realize until I opened the box but the color of the horse and the acorns are matching and I really like the fact!

image

The red horse, they had 4 colors; black, brown, red brown and red. I picked a red one because it goes with from dark to light colors.

image

The acorn necklace, this is Bakelite reproduction. The leaves are plastic but the acorns are made of wood! It actually makes the necklace much better than just plastic; the warmth and the gloss of wood would suit for autumn and winter wonderfully.

Yes… I have already done autumn shopping… Oh no…

Anyway, can’t wait for the autumn to come!!

Rummage at Waltham, MA

Moody St. in Waltham is a good place for antique/vintage shopping.

It was last year for the first time I visited an antique store, Downstairs at Felton Antiques. They have a lot of jewelries, teacups, crystal glasses etc. A fun place to spend some time.

I bought 2 teacups and one Christmas wreath brooch.

These teacup are all Aynsley England. I researched about their logo also their current website, and found out that the yellow one is a modern one, but still beautiful and it was a good price.

This is my only one (so far) and the best Christmas brooch! It is so cute and detailed. I bought this one in last November, and truly enjoyed for a month till the Christmas ended ;)

Faux Flower Earrings and Brooch Set from Bobby From Boston.

image

This store is very cool, and well-known vintage clothing store in Boston. My husband loves it because they have more men’s clothes than women’s.

image

A guy at the store said “ I think it belonged to Bobby’s mother. ”

image

At work, one customer pointed out my earrings saying “ Spring has come to your ears :) ”

Made in Germany, I assume…

They are beautiful but I have metal allergy and especially my right ear, I got so irritated… I need to buy silicone pad or something to protect my ears… That is the only down side, but other than that they are so beautiful and I am happy to own my first clip-on earrings!

One of the symbols used to represent Loki is that of two snakes, circling one another to form an ‘S’ shape, and biting the tail of the other (years of archaeological evidence; see Rundkvist below).

Loki is connected to the snake in a number of ways.

image

Jormungandr, the giant serpent of Loki’s offspring, is said to be so big that he/she can circle the world and bite his/her own tail (Gylfaginning 34), (Thorsdrapa 1).

In an older version of the myth about Idunn’s kidnapping by Thjassi, Loki turns into a snake at one point to wriggle into the room in which the potion of longevity (similar to Idunn and her apples) is being kept (Skaldskaparmal 5).

A snake was also used to punish Loki after the events of Lokasenna.  Loki was tied down, and the snake was tied above Loki’s head, so that its venom dripped directly onto Loki (final prose section of Lokasenna).

Another notable serpent in Norse mythology is the Nidhogg, a being that feeds on the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil.  However, Nidhogg is not directly associated with Loki in any significant manner (Grimnismal 32-35), (Gylfaginning 15).

The Tree of Life is an important symbol used by many theology, philosophy and mythology. It symbolizes the connection between heaven and earth and the underworld. This historical symbol has been reinterpreted by Gustav Klimt’s famous wall painting, The Tree of Life. The symbol of life and it continues to inspire many branches of art. @taffinjewelry , which has a unique place in the jewelery world with its original style, has also designed a brooch by not being indifferent to the Tree of Life. he used the piece of wood to stick to the authenticity of this symbol. In the brooch, the body of which was made of wood material, the detail that gave life to the leaves was jadeite and spinels. With the perfection of nature and the infinity of human intelligence, Life looks like a green tree. ( details of brooch ; Designed as a tree of palissander wood, set with marquise-shaped jadeite cabochon leaves of highly translucent brilliant emerald green colour, interspersed throughout with circular-cut red spinels resembling ripened peaches, mounted in platinum and 18 karat yellow gold, signed.
Cabochons approximately 7.49 x 2.80mm to 13.05 x 5.00mm. ) #taffin #gustavklimt #treeoflife #spinel #jadeite #wood #palissanderwood #platinum #brooch #arthistory #artwork #couture #jewelrydesign #jewellery #jewels )
