Speaking of nuclear, here’s the idea I was playing with. In this early iteration of Bigfoot I thought it would be rad if Bigfoot harnessed nuclear energy. He’d get so mad, he’d loose his hair and the crevasses around his body would start to glow with radioactive energy.  He’s a cute and cuddly creature…. but you really shouldn’t mess with him!

Dr. Crumb is self centered, mad, and loveless creature. Slimy and sweaty. He represents the dark side of blind ambition, recklessness, and disregard for life. He wanted to engineer the ultimate weapon but what he ended up creating was something so much more.

When it comes to mad scientists, there really isn’t a more brilliant character than Herbert West from Re-Animator. (If you haven’t seen it, you absolutely must!)

Jeffrey Combs, who plays West, is the inspiration for Dr. Crumb with just a sprinkle of Willard (Crispin Glover)

Francis is as hip as hip can be. He’s Elwood’s best bro for life. The two bonded over music and would marathon through Twilight Zone re-runs on the tele after school. His favorite thing in the world is his walkman and Michael Jackson’s Thriller. 

If I where to cast him, I’d most definitely choose Caleb McLaughlin, also from Stranger Things. 

I wanted Elwood, the protagonist, to be the embodiment of geeky, boyish charm. He’d be the kind of kid I’d talk to about Star Wars, X-Files, Rambo, time machines, and dinosaurs. The guy is a bit of a loudmouth, and maybe talks too much about the differences between the Jurassic and Cretaceous period, but he’s a loyal friend brimming with imagination.

If I were to cast anyone to voice him, without a doubt it would be Gaten Matarazzo. You know him. Dustin from Stranger Things.
