Pirates spam

I’ve been advised to take iron supplements and it’s been so weird having some energy back. These past 3 weeks I’ve put more effort into my art than I have in a very long time.
It could just be a good art spell and it might drop but It’s been real nice putting time and effort into it for once

Through the Mist Week Six

Hello again! Welcome to week six of my Through the Mist series. This is exciting because after this one we will start to get chapter two’s on all the stories. So yeah! Last time we dove into the world of marvel and for our final entry we dive into the world of The Pirates of the Caribbean.

Universe: Pirates of the Caribbean

I didn’t have time for this. I walked briskly through the busy streets. Even though the sun had barely set people had flooded the roads of the Island of Tortuga already drunk off their asses making mischief in the night. I ducked under a fist that had come flying my way not even bothering to see who threw it. I doubt it was meant for me anyway. I side stepped around a man who began retching up his last four drinks.

I seriously did not have time for this.

I slipped into a tavern scanning the bustling room in earnest. The awful stench of piss and ale filled my nose. A piano player was giving a sad attempt at a song and most of his notes were off key and mistimed. Probably because he was drunk off his ass.

“Hey love why don’t you try losing some of those layers.” A man leaned against me heavily, pawing at the neckline of my under shirt.

I smiled and laid my hand over his. “Where would you like me to lose my clothes?” I guided his hands down my throat and towards my breasts. “Here?”

His eyes were so wide I thought his head was going to explode.

I grabbed his other hand and placed it on my other breast. “Here?”

I thought his tongue was going to roll out of his mouth. I pushed him away from me and kicked him square in the chest sending him flying. I picked up a barstool and smashed it on him as hard as I could sending wood everywhere. I smiled at the bartender as I reached over grabbing a bottle of some expensive liquor. I walked over and as the man was starting to rise I smashed the bottle against the back of his head. I walked over the bar and licked the jagged edge of the bottle feeling the burn of the sweet alcohol against my lips. Then I set it down on the table.

“Put it on his tab.” I motioned to the unconscious bleeding man behind me.

“That was quite the entrance.” A man’s voice came from behind me.

“Well I do like to make my name memorable.” I smiled turning around.

He was an older gentlemen. His clothes were worn and stained with sweat. His shoulders were broad and his beard full and white. His thin hair was pulled into a ponytail against the back of his neck.

“And your name is?” He asked.

“Jesira.” I answered. “Yours?”

“Joshamee Gibbs, but folks call me Gibbs.” He stuck out his hand that was blackened with grime.

I took it anyway.

“What brings a fine lady like you to a place like Tortuga?” He asked.

“I’m looking for my first mate.” I said.

“You’re a captain, aye?” He said.

I shrugged. “I was, lost my ship, it’s a long story.”

He chuckled. “How about I buy you a drink and you can tell me all about how a woman captain lost her ship.”

I pushed off the bar and flashed him a smile. “Sorry mate I’m on a mission.”

“Fair enough.” He nodded. “See you around Jesira.”

I slipped past him and towards the back of the bar and sure enough there was my first mate. He was standing on a table with a woman on each arm singing to whatever shanty they were attempting to perform.

His dark black hair was the color of a raven’s feathers. His skin was tanned from spending hours in the sun. A fresh white scar marred the right side of his face. He was wearing a blood red bandana that hid his curls beneath it. His ears were adorned with dozens of gold hoops and jewels glittering in the weak light. His sapphire blue eyes were blurry from the amount of alcohol in his system.

I’m proud to be an Islander; Here’s the reason why: I’m free as the wind and the waves that wash the sand. There’s no place I would rather be than here-” He sang before promptly slipping off the table and face planting on the floor.

The entire tavern erupted in laughter before going back to whatever they were doing. I rolled my eyes and walked over.

“That was really something.” I kneeled down and yanked him to his feet.

“Captain!” He slurred resting his arm around my shoulders. “I am so happy you are alive. After we lost the ship I had no clue.”

I pushed him into a booth. “So, instead of bothering to find out you caught a ride to Tortuga to get wasted?”

“I was honoring your memory.” He argued.

“Bullshit.” I sat down across from him.

“Jes,” He sighed rubbing his eyes. “The ship is gone, the crew is rotting beneath the waves as we speak, and I thought you were dead until about 2 minutes ago. It’s over.”

I slammed my hand against the table. “It is not over! Amphitrite is still floating.”

“Yeah and it is in the hands of the East India Trading Company!” He groaned. “The only reason they aren’t after both of us is because they think we are dead. Let’s just stay dead alright?”

I ran my fingers through my short black hair. “You’re a coward, Killian.”

“Maybe, but I am an alive coward.” He sighed.

I twisted one of my rings around my index finger. “What if I told you there was a way to get it back? One that was full proof.”

He looked at me with those bright blue eyes. “Another one of your foolproof plans?”

“Yes.” I nodded leaning in closer.

“Your last full proof plan got us into this mess.” He pointed out.

I waved him off. “That wasn’t my fault. But this one has a 100 percent chance of succeeding.”

“Oh yeah and what does this plan involve?” He asked.

“We just need to steal the fastest ship in the Caribbean.” I smiled leaning back in my chair. “We need to steal the Black Pearl.”

Margaret Smyth

The bravest thing

she ever did

was to stay alive each day.. .

————————————————————————————————————————

Anybody else want a full backstory on Hector Barbossa? We know some about his life from the extended written series, but a movie focused on him would be amazing. Also, I want more of an explanation of what happened between Barbossa and Margaret Smyth. She seems like she must’ve been a special woman to attract the eye of the notorious Pirate Lord.

She came from the ocean,

this wild girl from the sea,

her hair flowing southwards,

she walked towards me.

A west to east smile,

with eyes steely grey,

like a storm in the distance,

rolling in from the bay.

We kissed with the sunrise,

made love when it set,

a promise by moonlight,

came dawn, my regret,

He left for the ocean,

this boy from the land,

his spirits soar northward,

his heart in her hands.

“When Margaret died, I summoned as much honor as a worthless blackguard ever could. I placed the infant in an orphanage, never to see her again. I thought the ruby might afford her some ease in life…but I never imagined she’d take those scribblings and make a life of her own.”

—Hector Barbossa, POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Margaret: I was a rambunctious child. Always causing mischief and getting into trouble. Honestly, I think my Mother was a bit relieved when I ran away. It would break her heart to know what I’ve become.

Hector: And what have ye become?

Margaret: A pirate.

lordchickooon:

Y’all know the one scene in At World’s End where Tia Dalma threatens Barbossa by withering his hand away and delivering a vague threat right?? Bc I’ve always interpreted that as her threatening to re-curse him because that feels like something she’d be able to do, but what I’ve heard from everyone else discussing it is that the intention was that she was just threatening to kill him. Which, yeah, is a fine threat, but I feel like the notion of him being cursed again (only this time without a way to really break it unless he were to somehow beg her long enough to earn himself pity points or something) would be arguably worse? Maybe I’m alone in this but I’ve always imagined that the curse would’ve left him with a considerable amount of psychological damage and the idea of having it return hanging over his head feels worse than a “do what I want or I’ll kill you” because after years of pirating that sort of threat has gotta feel kinda hollow, especially to someone like Barbossa who’s probably killed a whole lotta adversaries over the course of his life. I dunno maybe I’m the weird one but I like to think that Calypso would have the power to curse a mortal person, especially considering that the Aztec gold was cursed by “heathen gods” and Calypso is later referred to as a “heathen god” by Davy Jones. Just food for thought I guess

lordchickooon:

currently thinking abt how Geoffrey Rush said that he interpreted Barbossa as seeing himself as the hero of his own story and how he ultimately thought that he’d prevail and break the curse and get his happy ending. he’s such an interesting and tragic character, my god

tatooine92:

In no particular order.

1. All sass, all the time.

2. Gives no shits.

3. Fabulous teal head scarf.

4. “Waste not.”

5. Eye rolls:

6. Pretty spectacular fashion sense, if a little scruffy.

7. “He’s much like meself, absent me merciful nature and sense of fair play.”

8. Openly shows affection to his pet monkey.

9. Not As Much Of As An Asshole As You Could Have Been™

10. Literally the entire dinner scene in Curse of the Black Pearl. The dramatic flair, the low, mysterious tone of voice, and the Big Reveal. Quality.

11. Basically the Scrooge McDuck of the pirate world.

12. Definitely loves the Black Pearl as much as Jack does.

13. “What am I to you?” “Treasure.”

14. This:

15. *angrily chucks apple*

16. “CALYPSOOO!!! I RELEASE YOU FROM YOUR HUMAN BONDS!!!”

17. “Not you. We named the monkey Jack.”

18. Nothing but confidence and swagger all day long.

19. Amazing hat. +2 to CHA.

20. Surprisingly chill about allying with the people who killed him.

21. King of the dramatic entrances.

22. Delightfully horrible insults.

23. Adrenaline junkie. Literally down for anything thrilling.

24. Steps into the path of the Interceptor’s falling mast and literally doesn’t care.

25. Unexpectedly lovable asshole.

itsapirateslifehector:

So, ignorant as I am about stars, astronomy and astrology, I did a little Google on ‘Carina’ and found out that the constellation Carina is part of what used to be the constellation Ship Argo, together with the other constellations Puppis (the poop deck of a ship) and Vela (the sails of a ship)

and

Hector Barbossa you ultimate nerd

How could they put in the movie such a nice detail and then bungle up the whole series’s chronology like it was nothing sob

On a sidenote. Why did they have to change a charming scoundrel like this

Into this:

I mean, WHY? He was a pirate of good tastes, not a freakin’ ridiculous ponce

And now he’s dead so they can’t even restore his image
