So last weekend I went to watch the cats movie specifically because of the terrible reviews about it’s nightmare filled imagery and weird human-cat hybrids… But what really surprised me was that even though I went to watch it ironically in the first place, I ended up actually kinda loving the movie.
Me and my friend sat at the very back of the movie theater and when the freaking movie started we just chuckled at it. There is something so bizarre about the way the human-cats looked and behaved, like the crawling on all fours and the head rubbing.. AND the weird scenes like the catnip scene made me really freaking lose it. Overall I had a blast at the movies, and it’s been a really long time since I last enjoyed watching a movie like that, it was bizarre, but in the best possible way. ;)
I also love the songs so much, I loved them in the stage musical and I think they did a really good job in the movie. I haven’t been able to get them out of my head since, and I even had problems with falling asleep because the goddamn Mr. Mistoffelees song was stuck in my head. ;_;

And then I got the brilliant idea of “catsifying” my cats, so I drew our sweet lil’ bean Chelsea and baddest boy Bamse. (Chelsea is a ragdoll and Bamse is a maine coon)

So@stardusteyes liked one of my old Cats (2019) posts, which reminded me of a funny thing that happened recently related to that.
So last week, my sister (a.k.a. the one who dragged me to see the movie) texted me out of blue asking if saw any movies together in theaters in 2020 (pre-covid, obviously). I looked up what movies were out then, only recognized two of them which I knew we did not see, and reported back “No”
Turns out, since she’s been avoiding theaters since the pandemic started, Cats was the last film she saw in theaters.
I was quick to recommend Everything Everwhere All at Once, but I’m not going to lie when I say that there was some schadenfreude on my end.

I feel numb. It’s like Cats drained all of my brain cells and bone marrow so now I’m just a hollow husk of a human. God have mercy on my soul
SDComicCon is not even over but i alredy had TOO MANY emotions. Not all of them are good *coughCATScough* but they were all strong

ALTThe Cats pins have finally arrived!! I’m so pleased with how they turned out
