Some of my favourite drawings of 2021
2021
I finished a comic, got more into digital painting, improved my inking and opened a print shop in 2021! Looking back, I’m happy with how I’ve grown and worked with my art even though it’s easy to wish I’ve done more. My personal life has been eventful too and I feel I’ve grown there as well.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned with my art is that I can push the quality of my drawings a lot if I do the extra work. Thumbnails, reworks, references and fixing everything I’m not satisfied with helps a ton quality wise.
2022
I have a good feeling about 2022, both for my art and life. I’ll work hard on making my art more financially viable and I feel I’ve reached a level where I’m more comfortable with the idea of ‘going pro’.
I’m excited about working more with colors, both digitally and oils. I’m signed up for a life drawing class too.
Some projects I have in mind for this year: more prints, fine art ink drawings for a local exhibition, even more comics and some kind of book of fantasy knight drawings (hell yeah!).
Also, I’ll finally unlock my true boomer powers as I turn 30 this autumn

I had an Idea for a zine once that revolved around drawing of my lady friends who had glasses, with and without their glasses. Sort of about how when we cool at people’s faces with glasses, the glasses sort of dominate our vision and it’s hard to focus on their faces. I only drew this one picture and sorta lost interest.
But when I was scanning it, I thought of a really neat way to do this zine that makes sense. I could draw portraits of people with their glasses, while not wearing glasses myself…. and then draw them with out their glasses while wearing mine… and I would think this would capture that sorta glassed vagueness i talked about earlier. Maybe?
