Well they’re not wrong

humans need more than just milk, but dairy sure does contain a lot of what we do need

“Milk” isn’t a nutritional need. Neither human nor calf has a nutritional need for “milk.” We need the components inside the milk. You don’t need milk but it is a good source of stuff you do need.

White vegans when indigenous people agree with them: Wow, I feel such an incredible connection to Mother Earth and all of its incredible bounties. Sometimes I really feel like I have an Indian soul. What a gentle and kind people, who would never hurt a living soul. We can only aspire to be more like them

White vegans when indigenous people disagree with them: You’re a disgusting monster hiding behind your culture as an excuse to murder. It’s no different from people using culture as an excuse to bury women alive or mutilate children. I’m not saying that you deserve your genocide, but the fact that you haven’t evolved from your evil, savage ways just proves that you’re just as bad as colonizers. Kill yourself and make the world a better place

yall are boycott this vote with your money that until it comes to food huh

then its futile and useless to even try

i dont have time to get into this but it really..idk.

Boycotts work when you want to protest a particular company or organization, not an entire food group that we as human beings rely on. This would be like trying to boycott clothing or shoes or vaccines. None of us claim boycotts are useless, just that your ideas of it are.

nearly 90,000 ppl signed this petition to get a college to stop raising sheep on their sustainable solar farm and its such a fucking joke ppl are sending the people who work for this program death threats like-

When vegans attack the meat and dairy industries indiscriminately they never manage to shut down the big factory farms; they shut down the small farms like this that are doing the right thing. They are actively sabotaging efforts to make agriculture more environmentally and socially sustainable while removing competition for the factory farms that have profit as their priority. If they directed this much attention at farms growing plantproducts unsustainably they might actually achieve something.

MARVELOUS update

they literally don’t even know if this handful of animals actually got killed after living well on a small farm and they’re “keeping up the petition in memory” like a dead child gkcbffjcncnn

Not gonna mention how some woman used her dead child as a tool to try and get the place shut down? Like she used her child as a prop in her argument.

WOT

yeah ……..

I hate to tag you in stuff because I’m sure you have much better things to do, but….

@acti-veg

I’d like to make sure you and anyone else thinking of taggin acti in my posts knows that I have them blocked. Mainly because my mentions were 50% people tagging them to fight their battles for them and y’all seem unable to even defend your own morals yourselves. Leave me out of it please! It’s creepy.

Might as well tag Alex Jones to back you up in a debate lol

“kellire replied to your link “Netflix vegan hit ‘What the Health’…”

So have you found any reliable studies that point to a plant-based/vegan diet as healthy?

I guess it would depend on your definition of “healthy”?. You can’t really label certain diets like vegetarianism / veganism as healthy because it depends on the person. Someone that needs the protein provided only by meat obviously wouldn’t be healthy on a  vegetarian / vegan diet. ect.

Most of the few papers i’ve found have been more on some scientists arguing veganism /  vegetarianism being the way forward to save the environment. These papers don’t really have any experimental data but rely more on the previous research of other papers. And at the end of the day the scientists writing those papers were not experts in that specific field, and their paper didn’t sway me. Haven’t really found many (unbiased) ones that state plant-based diets are healthier than meat based diets.

There’s is a lot more papers however that state that reducing the consumption of red meats will be both healthier and more environmentally sound. Most people take this to mean “then cutting out all meat / plant only diets must be the best!” which is not what these papers are saying at all.

Anyways enough of me rambling on. Here are some research papers:

There’s a lot more papers on the nutrition benefits and negatives of plant-based / vegan diets, just like any other diet.

I don’t agree with people stating vegan / plant-based diets are more healthy because there isn’t any overwhelming evidence that suggests that it is. Both diets have risks and benefits, and depends on the individual person.

Companies are “going v*gan” because they want to reduce the “problems” they cause and not because they realize they have another demographic to profit off of uwu

Us: animal agriculture is trying to improve animal welfare

Vegans: IMPOSSIBLE! They just want PROFIT!!

Also vegans: these companies are going vegan because they are more moral than the evil carnists uwu

i absolutely cannot stand vegan takes on beekeeping if i see one more person say beekeepers are spreading invasive species and they should switch to native bees im going to go crazy. yeah that worked so well lets just use bumblebees! oh wait they already tried that in greenhouses and it spread a shit ton of diseases to wild bumblebees but okay yeah native = good and we just keep honeybees cause we love exploitation and no other reason

As a bee scientist telling beekeepers to just use native bees is so fucking dumb. Native bees often only pollinate very specific flora and crops and most beekeepers make most of their income by being paid to have their bees pollinate crops + honey production. You can’t eat alot of native bee honey and when it comes to native species that you can, like Australian stingless bees they only product less than 1kg a year not enough to be sold for public consumption.

Beekeepers also literally help prevent wild honeybee colonies from spreading and help rid (or in cases were its necessary) or destroy colonies that have diseases / pests which prevents them from spreading. Without beekeepers we’d have alot more invasive wild bee colonies.

agrithoughts:

Only 1.9% of total U.S. Greenhouse Gas emissions come from cattle! Eliminating or reducing cattle in this country would not only have a MINIMAL impact on cutting emissions, it would remove one of the most nutrient dense foods we eat (beef) and lower the sustainability and health of our pastures and farm land. Farmers should continue to work to minimize their cattle’s impact on the environment, but the good of cattle far outweighs the bad and it doesn’t make sense to eliminate them!

Beef cattle build soil health through grazing and spreading of manure. They allow farmers to grow food for people during the winter. They convert poor forage due to drought into high quality food. They take millions and millions of acres in this country that could not grow food and convert the grass into high quality food. They also improve all of these acres by grazing them and putting nutrients back in the soil. Beef provides many essential nutrients in a diet and is a cheap, healthy, great tasting protein!

Vegans of tumblr, listen up. Harvesting agave in the quantities required so you dont have to eat honey is killing mexican long-nosed bats. They feed off the nectar and pollinate the plants. They need the agave. You want to help the environment? Go back to honey. Your liver and thyroid will thank you, as well. Agave is 90% fructose, which can cause a host of issues. Bye.

i won’t eat honey because it exploits bees [eats crops pollinated by bees kept by humans]

My favourite is how they insist beekeeping is exploiting bees, UNLESS it’s done by other vegans, then it’s good actually.

Yes, #PrayfortheAmazon and all, but let’s remember two things if you live in the USA:

-Brazil is a sovereign nation and your suggestions of a coup d'état aren’t helpful. Quit being globalists and let the people of Brazil speak for themselves.

-Boycotting beef etc in the USA does literally nothing for the cattle ranching industry in Brazil. We don’t import meat from Brazil, we export to them, if anything.

But if you live in the USA you could try and ask for international pressure to be put on Brazil, for christ’s sake.
It’s not a Brazilian issue, it’s a global issue.

brazilian person here just to remind you that a lot of those guys who are burning the forest to get more land are also soy farmers, so it’s not just a meat issue, it’s about brazilian food industry as a whole.

The majority of soy is used as feed for livestock, so although yes it’s not just a meat issue, it is largely one

The majority of soy by weight is used as animal feed. This primarily (pretty much only) consists of human-inedible stalks and husks. Meanwhile 88% of soy oil is used in human food (the rest is used instead of petroleum oil). Considering soy is an oilseed, it’s unlikely that the production of soy would be lowered if we stopped feeding the by-products to animals and that they would instead find another buyer for said by-products (or just dump them/burn them).

Sources/further reading on Feedipedia:

Source on 100% of soybean oil being produced for human consumption.

Indigenous people in the Arctic: *cause virtually no harm to the environment with their hunting practices / have been sustainably hunting animals forever / have to suffer the consequences of food deserts and sky-high prices no white vegan will ever have to deal with*

White vegans: you know what’s really bothering me…seal hunting…let’s stop that somehow…

According to the ministry of natural resources in Nunavut, the hunters in Nunavut could hunt a ringed seal for each person who lives in Canada every year and there would still be a net INCREASE in the seal population. Traditional Inuit methods of hunting help maintain the environment, because an overpopulation of seals would be a disaster for fish stocks in the territory.

Also, the shit about clubbing baby seals is a racist myth based on the assumption that the Inuit are “savage”, so we white folks could stop repeating that myth

Let’s not forget that because of bioaccumulation & their diet composed of eating predators, these people, despite being in what most would consider ‘the most remote place possible’ suffer more from pollution than the rest of us.

They deserve better.
