For any witch who doesn’t know, these signs DO invite the fae, especially when you set things around them like this person set a coin on the sign:

I won’t reiterate my entire fae post, but generally it is a poor idea to make deals with the fae. So unless you specialize in working with them and know EXACTLY what you’re doing, please watch out for these!! Especially in thew spring, these little garden décor things are rampant!

If you want to make a little fae garden without actually attracting anything, do not:

  • accept or leave out food or drinks for them
  • make a faery ring
  • write letters to them
  • verbally invite them, even as a joke
  • insult them in some way
  • give them your personal information like your name (see my fae post)

Here’s another tumblr user who has an amazing post about the fae and is a well educated fae witch - https://phae-undergrove.tumblr.com/post/676918896423550976/faeries

carasidhe:

Based on some actual experiences

- When a stranger comes to your apartment door on May day morning asking to borrow some butter or milk, don’t lend any…all your luck will go with it. Never give any stranger a light for their cigarette on May day either - giving out fire is giving away your luck as well.

- When you are walking at night and you hear music, no matter how beautiful, or voices inviting you to join them don’t acknowledge that you can hear them and turn back towards home.

- When you are out walking at night and you hear the sound of horses or hounds or riders find shelter indoors or in your car quickly. The Wild Hunt (we call them Ghost Riders in America) is mercurial and if it’s the Slua Sí passing by they will do you harm if they can.

- Never run from the Fair Folk, if you see Fairy hounds or anything uncanny that frightens you. Running is what prey does and you do not want to be prey. Don’t acknowledge seeing them, if possible, but leave as quickly as you can.

- If you are being pixy-led, if you have lost your way in familiar territory, turn your socks or coat outside in or laugh and joke about how much fun you are having. this will free you from the enchantment.

- Never speak ill of the Good Neighbours aloud, nor express disbelief in them. They take insults badly and if they happen to be nearby and hear you they may respond. You will not enjoy their reaction.

Are you losing your mind?

Surly you are.

For a mind intact,

Would not mistake such words like that.

But at last, you’ve unscrewed your head.

How sad.

The maggots ate through the brain that’s dead.

And so now the corpse walks—

sanity cracked.

So tell me girl,

how do you feel about that?

You ever just think about how lucky you are that you met your spirit companions and that they’re still in your life after so long of being together and going through highs and lows together? It’s one of those moods tonight

I really appreciate these girls being in my life and the path I ended up going down doing spirit and fae work. I wouldn’t have even imagined where I would wound up after dedicating myself to it instead of the off-and-on stuff of my childhood. I’ve never really divulged much even on previous blogs about my companions because I’m just private like that, but I just love them so much TuT

I don’t usually make New Years Resolutions since no one ever keeps them. Not to mention I think if you really want to change and do something, you should do it and not just wait for the new year to start any self-improvement. I’ve already got my non-witchcraft related goals set of things I want to get better at controlling in my personal life (like finances and budgeting + time management better).

But as far as witchcraft, I just want to get more connected to it and experiment again Due to personal circumstances and adding college on top of that, I haven’t been able to connect with my craft as much or even spirits I consider my companions/family. It’s been a lot more passive than I’d like so with better time management, I’d like to have be more active with spellwork and other things I did when I had more free time.

Morning walks and meditation, practicing energy work (I think that’s necessary regardless of how advanced a witch you are, never forget the basics), and astral traveling more often. Astral work has always been extremely central to my path as a witch as a(n eclectic) hedge witch and I miss going on those ‘astral adventures’. I briefly got to have a small one today that was pretty interesting!

I never really talked about my experiences with astral travel much on my previous todayinmagicalgirlhistory blog and I’m not too sure if I will here, but I’ve certainly had some interesting experiences. But either way, it was an interesting adventure and I’d like to visit that place again in my free time. (And if anyone ever somehow stumbles upon this post struggling with astral travel or projection, don’t get discouraged and keep practicing! It took me well over a year before I could do it. So keep increasing your metaphysical knowledge, practice, and be safe!)

Incorporating the various styles of magic my companions are able to do into my own path will also be interesting. I’ve been thinking weather witching, color magic, and sea witchcraft.

I’m also hoping to more public divination like Pick-A-Card readings. They were always fun to do on my old blog. But I’d like to do more than say romance and such. But maybe I can do ONE since Valentine’s is coming up.

Anyway, that’s all for today (in magical girl history).

Things to Research Before Working with the Fae

image

Research is the most important thing to do before heading into Faery work and witchcraft. You want to have a lot of in depth and versatile knowledge covering many areas of the topic so you’ll be able to understand and interact with the Fair Folk! If you don’t want to work with the Fair Folk you can use this list to help yourself understand them and take the proper measure if you ever stumble upon them. I know the list could go on forever but I’m compiling the topics I find build a good foundation of understanding. I have compiled this list to give those interested guidance and a push in the right direction, it is best you do your own research before asking other’s personal knowledge and opinions!!

The Basics

  • Terminology(Fae, faery, fairy, changeling, seelie, unseelie, sidhe, etc)

This is the finished version of the wip I showed you a couple of days ago! I was inspired by something like dark fairies but in a good way. The kind of fairy that works only for nature and will give humans what they deserve after hurting the earth. I feel like I should have drawn some horns on her head maybe, what do you think?

Reblogs are very very much appreciated!! If you like my art, you can find more HERE

To see a fairy in your dream indicates that you are in search of some help or advice for a problem or decision, but may not want to directly admit you need help. In particular, if the fairy is evil, then it suggests that an aspect of yourself needs to be set free. The fairy is also symbolic of your soul and the feminine aspects of yourself.
