The new kid’s wear collection I collaborated with the team at Gorman Playground is live!!! The kid models got me feeling so happy that I went all out collaging some of my favorite moments from the photoshoot  Once again, huge thanks to the team at Gorman for making my dreams come true!!!!

Now that we are in the middle of April, I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of ramps at your local farmers’ market. If not, then blame all the chefs and hipster home cooks for hogging it all for themselves. Food enthusiasts go CRAZY for this leafy looking scallion.

Actually they’re wild leeks…cousins, in the onion family. Native in the forests of the east coast and Canada, they break through soil in the early part of spring. They’re high in vitamin C and have a garlicky, oniony flavor that’s pungent. Really delicious and versatile. You can use them anywhere you would use scallions or spring onions.

Roast or grill them whole. Make a pesto out of them with walnuts and pecorino cheese. Batter ‘em up and fry them whole..or no batter, making the leaves crispy. At work, we pickled them! OMG, I just thought of making kimchi out of them. Put ramps on your pizza, toast, scrambled eggs, oooh how about compound butter!

The only thing that sucks about them are the price. At the farmers’ market in Studio City, a vendor had them for $15 a pound! But that’s hella ramps. And they weren’t that good looking either…it was 1pm and all the early birds got best pick. The ones in the photo are from work. Aren’t they gorgeous? They taste as good as they look too!

While working farmer’s market and cooking up some veggie samples, these guys asked me if I wanted to be in a video about Corvallis Farmer’s Market for their new Youtube channel: LiveCorvallis.

After the fact, I realized how much I love being in front of the camera (especially when I get to talk about farming and food culture)!

As the season winds down and winter approaches, y’all can definitely expect more video and audio content coming soon! Thanks for watching!

So, universe provides hilarious coincidences once again. I set up my camp at envision festival right up tight next to a bunch of fellow 801010ers!!! Fully provided with all the fruity hookups you could possibly dream of for a week long festival. Piles and piles of coconuts, mangos, papayas… This breakfast was after a much needed sleep in from a long night of dancing. Papaya with mango, mixed leafy greens and herbs with ginger and cinnamon. Mm PURA VIDA! ✨☀️

The “baked goods” section at Reeves Farm farmers market. Princeton, Texas. Opening weekend for this season. We stop by here almost every weekend unless our plans take us in another direction. Great place run by great people.. We bought some sandwich rolls, a cinnamon roll to share, and some tomatoes.
