#gesture drawing
Here’s some 1-2 minute gesture exercises I drew. I used a random generator to pick an animal, which was a badger, and then I put it into the poses I saw. Hope ya like them! :D

I was sketching a definitely not-fanart human being and the only 2 separate people I showed it to both said it looked like modern alternate-universe Hiccup from HTTYD

What I do when I’m not drawing X3
I love skating in my spare time. I usually share my skating shenanigans on my FB and Insta story feeds so I thought I’d share on here as well. This weekend I actually did some outdoor drawing and decided to do some skating too! it was the best of both worlds lol
I have some skate related art projects planned for the summer so I’ll be sharing some of my skate endeavors along the way >w<

I’ve been trying to be a good person and keep up with life drawing the past few months! It’s really a mugh needed exercise as I’ve been working full time in 3d for more than a year now, I really need to loosen my lines ! :)

How to draw bodies and poses with overlapping.
In my art classes we have been talking about how having empathy and being vulnerable can help us become better artists and storytellers.
So putting ourselves into the shoes of the model/person we draw — trying to feel how they feel physically and emotionally—- increases the likelihood of the story and emotion coming across in the drawing.
(hopefully the way I wrote that makes sense)
I believe that empathy and vulnerability are a key part of living a life of substance and meaning, so it has been cool to see how that idea can bring more substance into creativity as well.
