Pictured here as the breezy, vivacious journalist Gianna Brezzi in Dario Argento’s Profondo rosso. Gianna Brezzi is my favourite giallo character and I find myself watching her scenes with an uncontrollable smile. Furthermore, the Arrow DVD restores all of the scenes deleted from the English cut so you get enjoy more of Gianna and David Hemmings’s character, Marcus, flirtously bickering. The scenes where they are speeding around Torino in Gianna’s beat-up ‘64 Fiat 500 with its busted suicide doors and broken passenger seat are especially good.

This movie wasn’t new to me, but I watched it again for the first time since college and it was just as great as I remembered. Slovak film has never gotten its due attention.
