i get the sense they were trying to placate fans by making the majority of the episode so….. sappy but i think they actually rly shot themselves in the foot with that. no one was accusing this show of doing bury your gays (because i think most people understood it is the type of show where People Die) until they went out of their way to have villaneve be genuinely happy together with very little other plot for 30 minutes and then just tacked on a needlessly cruel and brutal ending. like this isn’t a defense or an excuse of the show runner or the producers but i really have to wonder if they even understood what kind of wound they were opening for a lot of gay viewers by trying to “compromise” for those exact people

dropping the T in LGBT

the T should never have been there. the first trans people were homosexual persons who transitioned to escape homophobia. the first trans men were lesbians trying to pass with their female partners as straight couples. the first trans women were gay men trying to pass with male partners as straight couples. there is a community of same sex attracted persons, and all same sex attracted persons are GNC by virtue of SSA because the first gender role is the expectation to marry a person of the opposite sex and rear children with said spouse. homosexuality is at odds with hetero marriage, and gender roles exist to uphold the institution of traditional marriage, so all persons who experience SSA are GNC. furthermore, if we dropped the T, who’s really being excluded/“kicked out”? not SSA trans men, who are still included as lesbians under the L (females exclusively attracted to females.) not SSA trans women, who are still included as gay men under the G (males exclusively attracted to males.) but if we dropped the T, who WOULD be excluded? heteros who fetishize homosexuality. fujoshis and autogynephiles who think homosexuality is bigotry. since they don’t experience SSA, the “T” is their ONLY claim to membership to the “queer club” they think we comprise. transgenderism exists only because of the heteronormative society in which we live. if we abolish gender, homosexual persons would never feel a need to try to pass as straight. would some individuals still experience dysphoria? perhaps, but the number of those who do would be far fewer. bottom line: heteros envy the SSA community and milk the “T” as a way to gain “access” to us and harrass us for being SSA. dropping the T does not drop any SSA persons, since the LGB already covers them. dropping the T serves only to exclude heteros, who by default aren’t SSA.

from the horse’s mouth:

“Gay men often pride themselves on being disgusted by vaginas, and the same goes for lesbian women with penises. It’s difficult because some queer people have built their sexual identities on these repulsions, but I don’t think they’re innate at all.”

dont forget about the aversion project that happened in south africa. they specifically targeted homosexuals and forced them to undergo sex change surgeries when electro shock therapy didnt work (it never did)

I once had a guy tell me, from the driver’s side of his truck, that gay marriage sucked, when he saw me and a younger woman walking down the street and holding hands. The younger woman was my oldest daughter, who’d just leaned over to give me a kiss on the cheek before his outburst.

radical-art-n-inspiration:

“… Where I said “lesbian” the word lesbian was changed to “queer.” I was rebranded. I became the mythological “if the situation was right” lesbian. The appropriated slur “queer,” has become the popular descriptor of choice for a “yes” girl or a “maybe” girl— An “I’m not going to rule anything out because I’m open-minded” girl. It doesn’t carry the sting of lesbian. The stigma of lesbian. The boundaries of lesbian. Lesbian is a solid “No.” ”Not even if…” And that unwillingness to bend is the very reason lesbians are targeted with insidious psychological warfare.”

Why didn’t you say something sooner? – You’re asking the wrong question, Julie Diana Robertson, Huffpost US

allo-dyke-privilege:

The ironic paradox of biphobia and lesbophobia is that lesbophobia will have you believe society wants you to be bi and biphobia will have you believe society wants you to be lesbian. The reality is that society does not want you to be lesbian or bi; that society only wants you to be straight, but will not hesitate to use other identities against you. If that means tricking you into believing your closest allies occupy a higher social standing than you and wish to keep you beneath them in the same way the straights do to them, then so be it. It’s not even divide and conquer, its recruiting us to do their own bidding and ridding them of us in the process. Heterosexuals as a class do not prefer lesbians to bisexuals or bisexuals to lesbians, thought individually each one might have differing opinions on which are most or least acceptable.

Attempting to convince you that bi privilege or monosexual privilege exists is an intended to shift our arms towards our allies instead of our oppressors.

Chills. I can’t imagine my own high school showing up like this less than a decade ago to protest disgusting legislation like Florida’s Don’t Say Gay bill. The support Gen Z shows for the LGBTQ community is breathtaking.

The fight goes on. Keep it up.

I think you all need to know the consequences of this brave action.

The kid who started the walkout at the original school was indefinitely suspended, even though he had permission for the demonstration (their excuse is that he got permission for the walkout, but not for the little Pride flags he handed out). Other participating kids at other schools have similarly been punished.

Teachers who supported students walking out are also being punished, fired, blacklisted from working at other schools.

Homophobic kids are ratting out their fellow students and teachers for supporting the walkout to get them in trouble with school administrations.

The consequences are continuing.

So yes, applaud this - this is great, and it’s brave, and it’s inspiring. But be aware of what the reaction has been.

I agree that we do need to be aware of the reaction but like… why do you think we are talking about it being so chillingly brave? My heart stops every time I see people doing stuff like this, not because I am scared of their protest, but because I know the risks they are facing to do so, I know or can guess the possible consequences, I know what would have happened as OP said even a decade ago. Do you think everyone (anyone) sees this and goes “this was only done because there would be no consequences”? Where do you think we think the bravery stems from?

Bravery isn’t just about doing the right thing when others are doing the wrong thing or doing the right thing only when there are no consequences for doing so, nor is it only about being scared and doing something anyway. That “being scared” part? There is something legitimately there to be scared of- the consequences. And bravery in this instance is being scared of exactly that reaction and then doing it anyway because it is right. Bravery in this instance is a large group of people saying “I know this will likely hurt me, but I cannot let them hurt others without protest.”

I may not have heard the exact details of this particular situation, but it’s not hard to guess in general what they’ve faced to do this. And their protest is great, and brave, and inspiring because of what the reaction might have and has been, not in spite of it.

Congratulations to TJ Osborne and his brother John for winning the 2022 Grammy Award for the Country Music - for their song “Younger Me”. In their acceptance speech, TJ expressed:

“For those of you who do not know, this song was written really in response to me coming out. I never thought I would be able to do music professionally because of my sexuality.”

The Brothers Osborne come from a musical family and began performing professionally in 2013. The duo have also won five CMA Awards and six ACM Awards. The “Younger Me” video was nominated for a CMA Award for video of the year in 2021.

In recent years, TJ Osborne had been open about his sexuality with his close friends and family, but had concerns about how the impact of the news would affect him professional. But he publicly came out in February 2021 making TJ the only openly gay country music artist on a major label.

He explained:

“Country music is a beautiful genre, but there has been this kind of undercurrent of … only certain people are allowed in. However, when you go to shows, you see people of all walks of life enjoying it.”

In his Grammy acceptance speech TJ added:

“I certainly never thought I would be here on this stage accepting a Grammy after having done something I felt like was going to be life-changing, potentially in a very negative way. And here I am tonight, not only accepting this Grammy award with my brother, who I love so much, but I’m here with a man that I love and who loves me back. I don’t know what I did to get so lucky.”

The man TJ loves is boyfriend Abi Ventura who he kissed before accepting the award.

HBO Max reached the 4th episode of “Julia” and they are still focusing on Julia Child placating the men around her.

  • There’s her prissy husband who is having difficulty accepting he is not a world famous artist.
  • Then her producer who still seemed annoy his one hit show is about cooking.
  • And the host of another show who bristles that his show isn’t as popular as Child’s.

Is this all they have to say about Julia Child? That she cow towed to men?!!

I guess I shouldn’t have asked. Before writing this post I decided to do some research about Child. I found an interesting article from Boston Magazine. (Link below)

It’s disappointing to learn someone you thought you respect wasn’t born perfect. While Julia Child broken new ground and gained respect for women as chefs and women on television… it sound like Child herself was far from a feminist. Even after gaining fame she felt men should still get preferential treatment over women.

And her (early) views on homosexually would not gain her many gay fans.

Once after attended a party in Boston, Child wrote, “(it was) peopled by 3 fags in an expensive house. We felt hopelessly square and left when decently possible”.

It wasn’t until the AIDS crisis that she softened her views, learning about all the gay men dying alone.

Well… I can be glad that eventually saw the error of her ways… but I’m not so sure I want to continue to watch the series.

beast-with-the-least:

If a cis person, a straight person, a gamer, a white person, or a member of another non-oppressed group asks, “Where’s MY pride parade? Where’s MY special flag? Where’s MY exclusive club?” Then they must also ask…

“Where’s my fabric patch that my people were forced to wear on their clothing during the Holocaust?”

“Where are the laws that deny me being able to adopt children, marry my partner, or freely use the public bathroom that makes me feel safest?”

“Where are the politicians and religious figures that openly murder and imprison my people?”

If none of these questions make any sense in regard to their group, then perhaps they should next ask, “Why am I trivializing the traumatic history of oppressed people trying to survive in a world that violently tries to make them disappear?”

Complete and utter vomit inducing privileged bullshit? Well, you’ve come to the right place. This morning, I discovered something horrific besmirching the internet:

That’s right, folks. I’m not fucking with you. THIS MONSTROSITY

The Daily Caller is a trash publication that conservatives should be ashamed of. I wish that I had something more positive to say about young conservatives, but judging from the young conservatives that work in the media, the young conservative activists I read about, and the young conservatives on Tumblr, I’m feeling pretty cynical about the future of conservatism.

LGBT people: share an experience that is based on persecution of our sexuality and gender expression, have formed spaces to openly express our sexuality and our relationship with gender as safely as possible (even though we still sometimes get killed for it when in those spaces)

Acey-beans: we should center LGBT spaces around REAL shared experiences outside of heteronormativity! Like cake! UwU

Fucking GLAAD: Hey can we be more discrete with our lan-

Exclus: OH SO YOU WANT ME TO STOP BEING GAY? DO YOU WANT ME TO BE ERASED? YOU WANT ACES TO TAKE OVER? I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW MY TWO GRANDFATHERS DIED AT STONEWALL FOR ME TO ALIENATE ASEXUALS AT ANY GIVEN OPPORTUNITY. GOOD DAY, SIR. I SAID GOOD DAY!

Just admit that you’re a homophobe.

If you don’t want LGBT people to have spaces where we can actually safely express our sexuality, but instead cater to people whose identity is based on a disconnect from the sexual experience, then you’re a homophobe, plain and simple.

You goobers literally NEVER make these demands of the average cis-het. No, you be these demands of LGBT people.

You are toxic. You are bullies. You are homophobes.

*raises hand* I would like if everyone could keep it in their pants unless they are in privacy or at a club… That’s just kind of how I feel as a modest human being who would like to walk down the street and see kind gestures of love rather than two people engaging in foreplay on the sidewalk. People of all sexualities should be able to show affection or sexuality, but at the right time please.

Where the fuck are you going where there’s “foreplay on the sidewalk”? That’s pure hyperbole and a total dodge.

Even the Leather floats at Pride parades are never any less scantily clad than billboards for stripper clubs on the freeway – but Poor Pweshuss Smol Ace Beans would rather bully LGBT orgs to “de-sexualise LGBTOMFGWTFBBQ spaces,” rather than cis-het society, which is homophobia, pure and simple.

If they actually cared about what they perceived as an overall oversaturation of sexuality in society, they’d join forces with feminist groups, but they don’t, cos they’re misogynistic, in addition to homophobic.
