Nightclubbing we’re nightclubbing
We’re walking through town
Nightclubbing we’re nightclubbing
We walk like a ghost
We learn dances brand new dances
Like the nuclear bomb
When we’re nightclubbing
Bright white clubbing
Oh isn’t it wild…

“I give Iggy credit for deconstructing the very idea of entertainment.” ~ Kim Gordon

Quote of the Day: October 25, 2020

“Mr. Pop is passionate. It’s pretty obvious he’s kind of a wild guy, but he has standards; he has a controlled madness, and this is what it’s really all about.” ~ Debbie Harry

Quote of the Day: October 21, 2020

“I’m a little bit damaged in about 15 different ways, and it’s been nice that no particular damaged area has become a major issue. I’m a more than moderately healthy 65-year-old male who has gotten away with a lot of stuff.” ~ Iggy Pop

Iggy Pop (Leee Black Childers)

“There are ways of intellectualizing punk—important ways in which its rebellion can be read as political, symbolic—but my sense is that punk lives elsewhere in the body.”

“Around midnight my father surprised me by showing up with Joe. […] And then here comes Iggy, stumbling in our direction, with his big blue eyes gurgling in their sockets, pupils pinned like piss holes in the snow. His balls were falling out of his faded blue jeans, which were ripped from ankle to groin, and he had to keep pushing them back. Despite an inclination to do otherwise, I introduced my father to my friend.

So there’s Iggy, holding his nuts back with his left hand, pumping my father’s outstretched hand with his other one and telling my dad, ‘You’ve got a fine son, Mr. Sugerman, a fine fine son.’”

Chocolate Drops is my song for 2018 so far. As in, it accurately sums up what I’ve felt this year, rather than it being a song from 2018 (it’s actually from 2016). And this is why Iggy Pop is now one of my all-time favourites.

I’m a bit funny when it comes to live albums being classed as one of my favourite albums, but the second disc of Iggy Pop - Post Pop Depression Live at the Royal Albert Hall is an exception for me. I absolutely fucking love it. Putting the fucking in there in honour of Iggy’s swearing between songs.

I’ll admit I didn’t know many of his older songs, just the ones from the 2016 Post Pop Depression album really, but all of the songs above (which make up the second disc) are just flat out great.

I’ve been meaning to post a video of one of the songs on YouTube but for the last week I keep changing my mind which one to post, so here’s a text post instead saying how great all the songs are.

I love these boys so much.  Brilliant, avant garde juggernauts of performance, and responsible for some of the most influential music in the past 40+ years.  Take all that and wrap it up in their blatant gender-bending, and I’m smitten.  As cool as cool gets.  Did I hear there’s a movie in the making about these two?!?

I just wanna say I hope everyone is having a great day except for Iggy Pop, who I hope is having an amazing day because it’s his birthday. Happy birthday buddy.

A little something for @brownskinsugarplum76

Months ago I promised her art involving the one and only Iggy Pop wearing a collar.  Out of the Iggy eras that she likes, I decided to go for 80s Iggy.  With her permission and approval, I included a lead and a hand and arm as well.

Hope you like it Plum.

Created with graphite, ink, gel pen, colored pencils, and sharpie.

@nature-and -music-art

This is perfect! And then adding her hand to it was just brilliant. (I recall back in the day when she wrote a story about leading Robert around like a lion on a leash -or am I dreaming this up - as I’ve been known to do @brownskinsugarplum76 ❤️ this picture reminds me of that too!!
