FEATHERED FRIDAY: Inktober on Twitter!
Hey folks, Paul here with a Friday post! Couple quick things:
I’m thrilled there’s enthusiasm for the idea of OpenToonz tutorials!
- It’s been too long since I’ve made a post for Feathered Friday.
For the former, I’m excited to move forward! And for the latter, if you’re missing the bird content, I’ve been doing an ALL CHICKEN INKTOBER over on Twitter. Some of my favorites are above; see more below!

A possum in the forest lumbered over to me
A goddess of the forest, ancient deity
“Oh, to be an animal again” she mused to me
With abysses for eyes, tongue circling her teeth
“Well, aren’t you an animal?” I carefully asked
She put a hand on a skull, and spat out a laugh
“You’re an animal too, surely you know that
Once you become a deity, you cannot go back.”
This was one of those rare little drawings and words that creep up your spine with the autumn wind, daring you to wrestle them down onto paper. about 45 minutes, Papermate ballpoint pen and Micron 05. My Prismacolor brush pen was dying (well, all my pens are dying) so I dipped the tip in rubbing alcohol and “painted” with it. Some touchups were made in Photoshop to try to fix what the scanner distorted.

Hey all! My apologies for the delay since my last update. October’s proven to be a pretty bonkers month for me. I’m participating in Inktober, participating in two shows here in KC, and preparing to open an online store at the end of the month! Adj: (of a person)weak and delicate Easily damaged, fragile.

Looking at the prompt for @inktober day 8, frail, I’m reminded how I used to equate frail to introverted. It’s often seen as a negative to be less talkative or “shy”. Over the years as a therapist, I’ve learned being introverted does not equate to being frail. Introverted is (for myself) more in line with being empathetic and an attentive listener while still being able to advocate for myself and clients.

For Day-13 if inktober 2019 I drew Scarlet Spider. You know I had to throw in Spidey somehow, but since I’m trying to focus on characters I haven’t drawn much, or at all this year, I drew his clone. Yay, loopholes! Hope ya like it!
