LIVE

cockadilf:

To those of you wondering why the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard case is being broadcast live, and to those of you who think this is none of our business and it shouldn’t be public: this is for you.

Gonna preface this by saying I’m very bias towards Johnny so if you’re on Amber’s side get out you don’t want to see this. I’m not going to try to hide my biases or stay neutral for this post.

It’s actually EXTREMELY important that this court case be publicly available. I understand thinking that the funny YouTube clip shows are disrespectful and gross, they are, but there’s REASONS that this case is being streamed live, and it’s not for entertainment purposes.

Firstly, Johnny’s team fought for this court case to be live. They want everything public. So if you think Johnny doesn’t want this, you’re wrong. This whole court case is very much live because Johnny wanted it to be live. It was Amber’s team who wanted to keep it private. The case in UK was not streamed live, and Johnny lost. All information that was presented in that court case was lost to the public, besides what we were told. And the result? It made Johnny look a lot worse. It solidified for many that Amber’s claims were true. That’s not happening this time. This time, Johnny is making sure everyone gets to see everything, because as hard as it must be admitting to the world that he was victimized by Amber Heard, he felt he had to for the sake of his children. The world disgraced Johnny after Amber’s allegations came out. She claimed he was not only physically and verbally abusive to her, but that his own children were terrified of their father. Johnny is doing all this for the sole purpose of making sure his kids are able to live their lives without being mocked and ridiculed and belittled for having an “abusive” father. Johnny wants to show his kids that he is the good person he believes he is, and they believe he is. That’s why he fought for this to be live - because even if he loses this case, everything is now out in the open, and people are able to come to their own conclusions about him and Amber Heard. As far as that goes, he’s pretty much already won the court of public opinion. We’ll see if Amber’s team is able to turn that around.

Secondly, this case was already very public even before Johnny ever sued Amber. Amber came out with a public confession about her abuse, and called for Hollywood to blacklist Johnny. This was national news. Everyone knew about it. It cost Johnny his career. Especially at the height of the Me Too era, people automatically turned against him. The public message was clear: Johnny is an abusive wife-beater, and Amber is a victim. And Amber’s Op Ed regarding the affair made it EXTREMELY clear that she was not looking to keep the status of their relationship private. She went on a press tour after the divorce. She has always very publicly stated her side of the events. For Johnny’s side, his public statements have always been in response to Amber’s, denying her claims. The world already knew Amber’s testimony, from way back in 2016. This is the first time we are seeing Johnny’s side, which is being presented so nakedly to the public. And for Amber’s sake, her team is getting that exact same privilege. If this case was never national news, if people didn’t already have opinions formed on the situation, than I would understand wanting to keep it private. However, Johnny’s team wanted it public because Amber’s side was already public. They wanted to win back the public opinion, or at least have the truth out there clear as day, so Amber’s team wouldn’t be able to twist anything else.

Thirdly, I believe this case is important because it is an extremely high profile case that involves domestic abuse in a relationship where the accused perpetrator is a woman and the accusing victim is a man. It is no secret that in most domestic abuse cases, the woman’s side is taken. Male domestic abuse victims are rarely believed, and that needs to change. This isn’t to discredit female abuse victims, but male abuse victims should not be forced to live with their abuse or even worse, be mocked and ridiculed for speaking out against it. And even more so that the alleged abuser is now using her power to take revenge on her victim one last time, by ruining his career and making sure he’ll never have another job in Hollywood again. Johnny is here speaking not just for himself, but for male domestic abuse victims everywhere, who have been silenced by the absurd belief that “men can’t be the victims of abuse” or that “men who are abused are worthless cowards.” The stigma against male domestic abuse victims needs to be stopped. They need to know that they can come out against their abuser, and they will be heard. If Johnny wins this case it will be a huge step forward for male victims. Because it’s being so widely publicized, that’s already happening. Johnny is taking a public stance against domestic abuse and against abuse on men in particular, whether or not he realizes it.

In conclusion, please don’t watch this case for entertainment purposes only. But also don’t assume that that’s the reason it’s available to the public. Johnny’s team fought for this. Johnny wants everyone to know the truth, and whether you’re on his side or Amber’s, the truth WILL come out in this case. We’re about a week away from Amber’s cross examination, so we’ll see how things go from there. In the meantime, just try not to be an asshole.

this johnny depp vs amber heard trial has shown me that a lot of self-proclaimed feminists who champion britney & monica would fall for the tabloid propaganda against them in a second

what feels especially insidious about this situation is how depp’s team have used the “woke” terminology to mask what’s actually going on.

i just keep going back to johnny’s team hiring a quack doctor who diagnosed amber with serious personality disorders, and called her “histrionic” after talking to her for a day. and argued that because amber was obviously hysteric, she couldn’t have been abused.

that is the most regressive, salem era shit. that is the kind of stuff that happened to britney. women being deemed as crazy, and therefore not victims. but because it’s been cloaked in “women can be abusers too!” it’s woke. (obviously women CAN be abusers. amber isn’t.)

and that’s all it takes. that is literally all it takes to make thousands of feminists wish death upon amber and turn her assault into a joke. y’all are not immune to propaganda.

“That’s why I wrote the op-Ed because I knew how many people would come out of the woodwork for him.”

Girl.

Sweetie.

Baby.

You just admitted the op-ed was about Johnny.

Rare footage of Ambuser telling the truth.

All I’m saying is that, this interview, was definitely foreshadowing what she would be like on the stand.

She has those same mannerisms in that video (which was universally hated while she was in a much better light) like she does when she was on the stand.

a-little-counter-esperanto:

Well, my suspicions were correct. It’s not just AH’s Dad who has mistreated animals. AH herself did in her youth.

(tw: descriptions of animal abuse/animal death)

According to a former school friend of both AH and Whitney, she once poured habanero hot sauce in her dog’s mouth and poured all the water out of the dog bowl so she could watch him dehydrate and howl in pain. This friend also recounted an incident where AH beat Whitney’s beloved pet hamster to death on the sidewalk.

Those most likely to abuse their partners start this pattern of behaviour with animals.

It’s quite clear to me that she never cared for Johnny’s dogs at all. They were just a pawn in her sick game. Why else would she have sent them to live with her father, a man convicted of animal abuse?

I hope she gets the punishment she deserves for being an absolute abhorrent human being.

Hold on, wait a damn minute. She did what?

I swear, the more I learn, the more I wish I hadn’t.

a-little-counter-esperanto:

people who are still using the article from The Scum to justify their hatred for JD and his supporters, Dan Wooton, AH and Justice Nichol aren’t going to gang bang you

Also, it doesn’t make sense.

As much as her stans were to cry out, Nicol found “12 out of 14 incidents of abuse” in his final judicial ruling, he shouldn’t even say that. That phrase is digusting because while both trials are talking about abuse, it’s no the focal point. Johnny has not, cannot, and will not be subjected to a criminal trial of abuse. That “12 out of 14” is super inapporiate because it implies that Johnny should’ve been, despite our judicial system that’s in place. Such a gross damn phrase.

He also dismiss a shit load of evidence that was favorable to Johnny. He denied expert testimony for Johnny’s team. He barely allowed witness testimony for Johnny. Anything that went against Amber, was dismissed essentially.

And still, the funny thing about it, Amber committed perjury despite being favorable. Read Nick Wallis transcripts, she does it in seconds.

a-little-counter-esperanto:

The AH stans seem so keen to bring Johnny’s children into their arguments when he’s explicitly stated he wants them left out of any coverage or discourse about the trial. Baffling. If I have only one thing to say about AH’s child it is something that actually encourages the protectionof both AH and her child. Because even though I may disagree with AH supporters, I will never go low. No child should be at risk.

fr the people on tumblr are so brainwashed sometimes. the way you act like it’s ALWAYS the man’s fault. it’s scary how you guys shut yourself out to evidence when it’s the woman who’s at fault.

i watched large chunks of the trial and there’s nothing that can convince me that amber heard DIDN’T defame johnny with malicious intent. you guys want to go around praising women and “believing women” and of course we should. but there are also times when you have to think critically for a moment and parse the evidence. if after watching the trial and being presented with all the evidence you still think amber heard was sexually/physically abused as she claimed… i don’t know what to tell you except to brush up on your critical thinking skills. you need to realize that there are some people who WILL lie, who WILL try to defame others to propel themselves up. you need to watch amber’s testimony vs johnny’s. don’t just run with verdict if you haven’t seen the evidence and heard what the lawyers were arguing for.

also if you’re still on amber’s side, pls go listen to the tape recordings of her ADMITTING to hitting johnny depp (there are multiple ones), then go look up the “evidence” she presented of photographs where she claims johnny “whacked” her multiple time while wearing large rings. images are not consistent with her claims, and they have been edited. then go look up talk shows she appeared on and places she’s been photographed in and tell me she was “whacked.” and no, makeup will not cover swelling or severe bruising.

then go through all the witness statements and tell me they’re all lying. managers, cops, deskman, friends, makeup artists – they’re ALL lying for johnny depp? go watch them and tell me what you think of amber heard verbally abusing johnny in public.

and yes, the claim of sexual assault was defamation. if she was assaulted as badly as she claimed on so many different occasions, she would have needed hospitalization. someone would have noticed. for being such a public figure, photographs would picked up bruises, scratches, etc. but there isn’t, except that one photograph TMZ took of her at the courthouse, who knew to show up there and which side of her face to photograph because she or her team alerted them. (btw that bruise showed up mysteriously and was gone the next day.)

also, you’re putting blame on the jury, who has to go through hours of deliberation and mounds of evidence. if you weren’t there, or you didn’t watch the trial, how dare you claim that the verdict was unfair or incorrect. and btw, they awarded amber $2 million for waldman’s statement, which i find more than fair.

and before anyone goes off on me, i’m a woman. i’d withheld my judgment until i heard from both sides in the trial. all evidence suggests that johnny had not been physically or sexually abusive to amber.

by denouncing this verdict so vehemently, you realize that it’s unfair to the MEN who don’t come forward with domestic abuse. it’s a two-way street. Women are more likely to be abused, but that doesn’t mean that men aren’t. if all you heard is the media coverage and the shit amber spewed, of course you’re gonna side with her. but i’m gonna fault you on bad logic if you didn’t consider the evidence. you can’t pick and choose who you listen to. just cause amber’s a woman doesn’t automatically make her a victim.

It continues to fascinate me that people think they know who the abuser is in Depp v Heard. I have no fucking idea who started it and who’s just reacting. None. Every time I think I do, something else comes out that the other one did where I’m like “what the actual goddamn fuckshit is this”

Like, people are all “so and so is obviously the liar here” but whenever they do that I just see a proxy war for “can men be abused, or is it almost always women?” Who looks like an “obvious liar” seems in most takes I read to follow from that.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen, “you know I usually think men abuse women but Amber shitting in the bed is… yikes” or “i really hoped this would be a clear case of how men can be victims, but Johnny getting violently aggressive toward complete randos when drunk/high makes me really wonder if he might have started it.”

It seems like a political proxy war all the way down.

Yes, women get abused by powerful male celebs who get away with it because people love them. Yes, men get abused by women who get away with it because it’s unmanly to be a victim.

No, I have no idea which of these is happening here.

Yes, absolutely. Although the way I’d frame the trial is that there are really only two things we can know about their personalities and behavior with a reasonable sense of certainty:

  1. Johnny Depp has a fairly serious substance abuse problem.
  2. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard each, to some extent, abused the other in their relationship, which was a profoundly toxic one.

I guess everyone wants to “pick one side or the other” which means deciding that one of them was the “main abuser” so as to represent an example to the world of how women are routinely abused or how men can be abused too, etc.

Maybe this is my bias somehow, but I would say that this should definitely be taken as an example to the world of how two people in a relationship can be abusive to each other, a dynamic which I suspect is much more common than is widely acknowledged.

(I will say that I’m seeing less politicization of this current event than I saw with, say, the Rittenhouse trial, or than I suspect there would have been for this trial if it had happened some eight years ago when feminism was What Everything Was About, but maybe it’s an evolution in what shows up in my rather limited social media.)

alphalaurahale:

Tumblr’s toxic feminism once again ruins a happy moment for me.

Johnny Depp won and rightfully so.

He wasn’t an abuser, Amber was.

That lying, conniving, manipulative bitch did everything she could to ruin this poor man - including but not limited to lying under oath and faking “evidence” - and he still came out on top.

As an abuse survivor myself, I couldn’t be happier and all of you fuckers who are still defending Amber - probably without even having watched the trial and her shitting acting - can suck my dick. You’re an embarrassment to yourself, the metoo movement and feminism in general.

a-little-counter-esperanto:

On June 1st 2022, Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day, John Christopher Depp II won a defamation lawsuit proving his innocence, and rightfully condemning his abuser. Today is a good day.

Cheers to everyone who fought for the truth, may this be the start of a new chapter in the lives of victims and their journey to justice.

chemicaldemons: I normally rarely ever post on tumblr but this is honestly haunting me. Look at her.

I normally rarely ever post on tumblr but this is honestly haunting me. Look at her. Look at her and tell me she is the scared victim she says she is. Look her dead in the eye and tell me, how she is trapped in the grasp of PTSD.

She sincerely scares me. I can’t imagine how Johnny Depp must feel.
