I wanted to paint my feelings of a sensory overload. Some days I’m overstimulated by sounds and those days are especially difficult.
Not every day will be great, but you’ve made it through 100% of your worst days.
I’ve come to understand that I’m most motivated and focused on art when I’m stressed. Realizing that’s not a healthy way to express myself, I’ve been working towards identifying why that is. I picked up art in my teenage years as a form of escapism. I try to channel my thoughts and feelings into paintings, hoping that they can speak for me and say what I don’t think I have the vocabulary for. This one took me on a little journey.
It’s taken me a long time to believe that people are not halves, we are more than that. Embracing self-love and investing in yourself is essential for a positive outlook on life and real happiness. Love your smile, your laugh, your skin. You have your company for the rest of your life, and you are the only you there is.
I originally drew this on photoshop and transferred the file over to procreate, check it out.

Lives are so needlessly lost. Protest for and #vote to invest in community care, housing, and our people first. Every single one of them should be alive, hearts beating and lungs drawing breath.

The Guardian Simetra is a hero, a goddess, a warrior and a mother. She is the guardian of women and takes as her sigil the hare, a symbol of fertility, rebirth and sustenance. In modern times she has taken as her credo “protect ya neck” a line from Wu-Tang Clan. This credo stands as a reminder to all women to be vigilant and take care of oneself before taking care of others. It can also be seen as a warning to those who choose to cross her.
