They’re all proud and ready to give and do their best. They’re Marines and damn proud of it after all. But one of them is different from the rest. They all know it. They’ve known it since the day the Sgt observed them before taking a few aside for a more detailed review before selecting one of them for more advance training. After that day he stopped being just like them. He’s still one of them, they still trust him to have their backs and know he’s still a Marine but it’s more. Without even realizing it they turn to him for advice and the critique of their maneuvers more than the trainer. He’s become their true leader. And more than a few of them have asked about the Sgt and if he’s taking on more Marines.

Focused on the mission, on completing the Unit’s orders all other thoughts worries and cares are gone, leaving behind a Marine that will do anything for his Sgt.

It doesn’t matter what uniform and man is in, he loves reporting in to his Owner. Best feeling in the world.

Feeling his old Coach’s music pumping through him he felt so focused and in the zone he knew he was giving a great workout. He flexed and closed his eyes as he felt pleasure overwhelm his mind, pushing everything but the need to build up his body for his Coach and Sgt. Nothing else mattered.

CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (Sept. 11, 2015) U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. George Camden does push-ups during unit physical training. Camden is a driver with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The Marines use unit PT to acclimatize to Djibouti’s temperatures, and stay fit. Elements of the 15th MEU are preparing to conduct bilateral training with the 5th Overseas Combined Arms Regiment (RIAOM) in Djibouti in order to improve interoperability between the MEU and the French military. Giving his all he’ll keep cranking them out until ordered to stop.

Dolphins Use Targeted Echolocation To Plan Their Hunting Dives

The central challenge of dolphin existence is that your oxygen is on the surface and your dinner is in the deep. Hang out breathing air too long and you’ll starve. Dive too deep for food and you’ll drown.

To thrive, dolphins must use their oxygen wisely. A new study of one type of dolphin suggests they do that by carefully planning each dive, using information from previous dives to predict where food might be.

Thestudy, published Wednesday in the Journal of Experimental Biology, used a relatively new technology to record the locations and vocalizations of 33 Risso’s dolphins as they swam and hunted off San Clemente Island in Southern California. Researchers led by Patricia Arranz of the University of La Laguna in Spain used suction cups to attach small recorders to the dolphins.

Fatherhood And The Pregnant Male Seahorse!

Happy Fathers Day to a dad who makes us all proud. A father who knows how to take one for the team. We’re just glad that we’re not him! After courtship, the female deposits eggs in the male’s pouch, where they are fertilized, develop and hatch. The female seahorse deposits up to 1,500 eggs in the male’s ventral (front facing) pouch. The male carries the eggs for 9 to 45 days until the baby seahorses emerge fully developed, but very small. Once the young are released into the water, the male’s role is done and he offers no further care and often mates again within hours or days during the breeding season. Some may call you Mr. Mom but you’ll always be “Dear Old Dad” in our eyes.
