#mens rights
I support the right for black men to interact with the police safely and without fear for their own life.
I support the right for trans men to use the correct bathroom without fear for their safety.
I support the right for bi and gay men to marry and adopt kids and donate blood.
I support the right for disabled men to have access to facilities and services with their disabilities accommodated respectfully.
I support the right for immigrant men to be treated with respect and be given full protection under the law.
I support the right for Jewish men and Muslim men to be able to practice their religion in peace without bomb threats and hateful vandalism against their places of worship.
Of course I support men’s rights. I’m just confused as to why so few “Antifeminists” do as well.
So something doesn’t qualify as a men’s rights issue to you unless the men who face it are primarily disadvantaged due to their racial or other minority status? No mention of issues faced pretty much universally by all men in our society?
Are you suggesting that men’s issues dont count unless they impact white, straight, cis able bodied men?
I never said that, did I? But there are issues men face specifically because they’re men. When we talk about men’s rights, we should focus on issues that we collectively face, not things that a mere subset of us face and which would be better addressed by other movements.
So basically you dont want to focus on anything that doesnt impact white straight cis dudes?
No intersectioanlity here i see.No, because I don’t want to focus on anything that only impacts e.g. white men, for the same reason. It makes the most sense to put the most effort into advocating for things that affect all of us.
MRAs don’t have to co-opt the civil rights movement, the LGBT rights movement, etc. in order to be valid in its own right.
Let me try to explain it. Supporting men’s rights is when you are wanting to stop things that are negative towards ALL men BECAUSE they’re men. All of he examples above are better suited for Civil Rights, LGBT, and religious freedom respectfully. But those things have nothing to do with them being men, so they aren’t men’s rights.
“These issues only impact minority men, so they aren’t my concern.” Well doesnt that just show where your priorities are. Telling.
The problem here is that, while I agree with the OP in general, all of this support is extremelyconditional (you be my obedient patsy OR ELSE), and women in the aforementioned groups get more focus than men do because their issues are deemed as inherently more important.
What’s left in activism is men being told to shut up about the issues that are important to them because the ladies are a million times more important, whether they intersect with other identities or not.
No where in this post did I mention women. This post literally isn’t about women at all. None of the replies were even about women. The word women doesn’t even appear until your reply.
You really went back to a 5 year old post to make this much of an ass of yourself.
Literally the post is just pointing out that. Back in 2017, MRA spaces did very very very little to materially help men on any issue that wasn’t specific to white, straight, cis, able-bodied men. And you came all the way back here to tell us all how much you have feminists on it?
♀️ great priorities.
So I think the most complicated variable in our society right now is two factors of how we currently operate in regard to a push back at emerging social norms. The most chaotic variables in society today are becoming violent variables that many of us havent figured out how to address.
The new hatred and skepticism towards kindness, softness and gentleness in our civilization.
and
Men’s resistance to their domestication.
Outlets for criticizing the emerging PC culture like the Alt Right/Alt Lite have become the forefront for displaying a disregard for masculine restraint and an untethered sense of call to arms to violently defend the “Might makes Right” worldview.
Trump, Le Penn, an ever more Corporate America and an outspoken anti gay Russia have contributed globally to the skepticism of altruism and the task of the “Universal Golden Rules” and an embrace of “whats mine is mine” and radical interpretations of unilateral liberty justified by skewed understanding and co opting of regional constitutions.
Notably, the question arose when discussing a particular punk scene where it was asked, “why do they all have to break windows and trash places?”, whilst at extreme music venues.
The observation of how early Metal culture had brandished the male camaraderie ethos and how the boys club of the early Metal scene was held as the “last bastion of free male display”. The pit of the concert at Punk and Metal shows has at least been the only place where young men can freely rip there shirts off, beat their chests, cover themselves in alcohol and scream and bellow their pent up energy as male animals in an ever increasingly male domesticated world where their female counterparts are ever more the subject of unilateral respect, as women in our world demand the compensation and the level playing field to achieve what men have always had the privilege to for centuries of history.
This coupling with the Trump presidency’s allure to the various cost cutting mentalities to every corner of regulation in our society.
The glamour of “rugged individualism ” and the sense of morality that pushes “Social Darwinism” onto our civilization has lead to a basic class war with every segment of society that cant defend itself with money, representation or privilege has contributed to the hatred of kindness in our world.
“Men’s Rights Activists” have spear headed the call for skepticism towards a caring society and pushes for the flags of traditionalism as men and the strong feel threatened by the meek’s emerging representation in society.
Especially the subject of “safe spaces” have been the spotlight for how the “might makes right” philosophy’s battle with the philosophy of caring for the meek and poor and sick.
Just the fact that the tenants of Alt-Right/Lite philosophy calls for a movement to “trigger” people just to hurt them and hopefully make them display their weakness in the face of strength, makes them blatant “violence rights advocates”.
It actually happend that a group of Alt -Right trolls sent a journalist critical of Richard Spencer and the ethno nationalism of the Alt Right, and a sufferer of epilepsy, a strobe light effect gif to trigger an epileptic episode. Literally attempting to send political dissident to the hospital.
Just the fact that someone may have even a medical condition is warrant enough for this new persuasion of “violenteers” to in effect erase weakness from this world.
The world right now is trying to create a chimera where “might makes right” is inseparable from what it means to be a man.
It is understandable that men like all humans are animals and do need accommodations just as women do.
The remedies discussed were to possibly create an environment, literally a place or even just an atmosphere for men to feel like they can beat there chests and rough house as they naturally may need to.
A literal safe space for men.
However, the task isnt to invalidate men from theire masculinty or theire sense of power but help them see theire differences as a bonding element rather than a separating one when met with a feminine society.
The Intent to fix this problem must be one where we find common ground in the sex war. Where it’s not Feminist vs Men’s Rights Advocates but men and women fighting for equalism.
That men can be just as free as women and women just as free as men.
The difficulty is dispelling men of the toxic masculinity that our corporate world pushes on them. Women also suffer from toxic femininity as well and is also pushed by unregulated capitalism and our consumer media. Men and Women should be just as interchangeable as a left and right hand.
The battle of the sexes is one thing to fix while the hatred for the meek continues to plauge the human soul.
Forests and oceans cant defend themselves, animals ultimately cant defend themselves yet we have a culture where people see this weakness as one to exploit as it’s our due as apex predators. Trophy hunting, military funded video games and media, Sports, Hollywood movies, even food chains perpetuate “might makes right” even down to the way your frame the understanding of beef in our food.
The news shows us that our society is willing to beat people literally into submission by using riot police, police militarization, tazers and even kill ethnic minorities with impunity when the meek try to demand fair treatment.
The pariah may not be men but it is certainly the seduction of power and money that clouds the hearts of men.
Men can be good fathers, good sons, good boyfriends and husbands and brothers if they can be saved from the toxicity of whats sold to them.
Female genital mutilation is a human rights abuse, but if you don’t allow your own genitals to be mutilated you’re not a man.
Feminism = gender equality
That means we want both genders to feel equal!
If you think that only men are rapists, unfollow me.
If you think men can’t be rape victims, unfollow me.
If you think women cant be raped, unfollow me.
If you think women cant be rapists, unfollow me.
Where are the men of courage? They’re gone thanks to ‘toxic masculinity’
Summary: this article condemns today’s culture in which they hate masculinity and attack it as toxic.
Sounds good so far.
EXCEPT….
- It’s not just men’s duty to protect the public. All they’re doing in this article is glorifying the duty of men to be the expendable gender. Women can be cops and protect the public as well.
- Who gets to define masculinity? The tradcons who wrote this? The feminists who hate masculinity and want to figuratively castrate men?
and three and most shockingly?
This article was posted on Reddit’s Men’s Rights forum!
Those numbskulls don’t even realize or care that they’re glorifying male disposability.
Another reason why I left the men’s rights movement…
“A woman might collect child support from me for a child that isn’t mine!”
“Then cultivate a reputation of keeping your hands to yourself.”
“A woman might collect child support from me for a child that isn’t mine!”
“Then cultivate a reputation of keeping your hands to yourself.”
Fun fact: When prison rape is included in statistics (which mind you is still rape) men get raped more than women.
Let’s celebrate masculinity.
Here’s to the men who love being masculine, who love sports, working out, maths, science, and other things that are considered typically masculine.
Here’s to the men who are more aggressive and assertive, who are less emotional and prefer to keep their feelings private, who are more dominant and outgoing.
Here’s to the men who are shunned and shamed for their masculinity, who are told to stop “mansplaining” and “manspreading” and that their masculinity is toxic.
Masculinity is not something that we should be disgusted by, it’s something we should celebrate.
Let men be themselves.
We all know when a man gets a woman knocked up, they are her children, not his.
When a father can’t live up to his fatherly duty to provide money to his wife’s kids, he is imprisoned for not paying child support. When a woman cannot pay for her children the state picks up the tab, and or forces the father of her kids to pay for her children.
When a man fails to provide, he goes to jail. When a woman fails to provide, she gets assistance. This is the result of both feminism and traditionalism.
Feminism insists the state should pick up the tab. Traditionalists (conservative republican types) believe the father should pay for the kids.
Left wing, right wing, men will always be screwed.
I believe that the right to life is a negative right, with the exception of minors. a child’s right to live is a positive right, meaning obligation of the parent. I believe welfare and child support at mens expense should end.
I believe the obligation to provide for a child falls on the shoulder of the mother since both feminism and traditionalism defaults to “women are caregivers” anyway. And so mothers should be forced under threat of imprisonment to provide for a child. Failure to do so should result in prison for the mother.
Would #WomenAgainstFeminism agree mothers who can’t pay for their children should go to prison, or will they show their feminist roots and insist that either her ex or the state needs to pay for her kids?
Are #WomenAgainstFeminism really against feminism and female privilege, or are they just old school feminists telling the young 3rd wavers to please tone down the rhetoric before the men get all riled up and go MGTOW?
–Feminism creates a toxic atmosphere for boys.
–Feminism has succeeded in altering the academic environment and criteria to help women excel at the expense of men.
–Feminism was instrumental in pushing for VAWA which assumes men guilty, and gives the state the power to press charges against him without the wife’s consent.
–Feminism demonizes masculinity.
–Feminism creates false statistics to make men look like criminals.
–Feminism creates a hostile work and academic environment by allowing women to act sexual and flirtatious, while giving those women the opportunity to have any man charged with sexual harassment if his flirtation bothers her.
–Feminism has granted women the power to point her finger and have a man found guilty until proven innocent of rape.
–Feminism has attacked and corrupted the video game culture, comic book culture, atheist movement, tech industry, and every other space that was formally male dominated, by forcing these spaces to be a “safe space for women”.
–Feminism creates womens study courses and womens groups on college campus while shutting down any efforts for men to do the same.
–Feminism has created a culture where the majority of welfare is paid to women (at the expense of men’s taxes).
–Feminism was instrumental in creating an instant divorce society that practically guarantees the woman entitlement to everything her husband owns.
–Feminism has demonized men; teaching the world to be afraid of the male sex.
–Feminism, and its influence on divorce court, has put countless men in jail for his inability to pay child support for a child he is not even entitled to see.
–Feminism has created socialist entitlement programs such as gender quotas, and womens-only job training, to advantage women over men.
–Feminism has created a society of double standards where it’s always a woman’s choice, and a man’s responsibility.
–Feminism teaches little girls to hate and distrust males.
–Feminism routinely insists that women are marginalized, and that male suffering either doesn’t exist or is trivial.
–Feminism has created a women-are-victims mentality in western women, making them incapable of seeing male suffering or male disadvantage.
–Feminism has created a society so toxic and anti-male that the male suicide rate is 5 times that of women, the prisons are filled with innocent men falsely accused or too poor to pay their child support.
When you mention any inequality men face or that their suicide rate is 5 times that of women, they sing “cry me a river” and post pictures of themselves wearing “I bathe in mens tears” shirts, as a way to mock and laugh at male suffering, exclaiming it’s either not there, it’s superficial, or that they just don’t care, and men are being big babies.
Any human being in the first world that thinks women are disadvantaged to men, is a selfish self-centered loathsome creature who lacks empathy, a sociopath, and should be distrusted immediately and avoided.
While arguing a feminist on twitter, she said this “when was the last time you felt afraid to look a woman in the eye walking a street at night?”
I reminded her that men are more likely to be victims of violence than women. She tweets back “that wasn’t an answer to my question.”
Alright then, I’ll try to answer it like this:
Yes, I have been occasionally afraid to make eye contact with a woman. Drunk angry bi-polar bitches on the subway, running their mouths and getting violent. I did my best to avoid her gaze. Flirtatious bitches with violent boyfriends; I kept my distance, because I didn’t want to become the tool she uses to trigger her boyfriend’s violent jealousy for thrills. If a woman starts acting violent, or threatening, I fear it just as much as a man, because if I hit her back, men will swarm on me, cops will arrest me, at least with a man I get to fight back and defend myself.
But for the most part, I’ll admit, when I lived in the city, it was almost exclusively men I feared would attack me.
Men do in fact commit most of the public violence (though domestic it’s about 50/50).
What troubles me is @Garbage_Person making the insistence that to avoid saying I fear making eye contact with women, somehow validates her claim that WOMEN are victims.
Does she just not get it? Regardless of who is doing the perpetration, men are more likely to be victims than women, but in her mind women are the victims.
It is a common theme in feminism; circumstances affecting men far more than women, yet feminists make it all about women. This is due to the dynamics of how their bigoted mindset works. In life, women are granted the victim identity, men are granted the perpetrator identity.
To understand how their sickness works, picture this:
Two men shoot each other dead, the feminists pull out their check list, and mark down that two men perpetrated murder. But because “male” does not fall in the victim category, they do not mark down that any man was a victim of anything.
A man and woman shoot each other dead, they mark down that a woman was the victim of a shooting, a man was the perpetrator, but they do not mark down that the woman was also a perpetrator, and they do not mark down that a man was a victim. If two women shoot each other, they mark down that two women were victims today, but do not place either of the two women in the perpetrator category.
Only women are victims, only men are perpetrators, this is how they see the world. That’s why they’re feminists. That’s why all they ever do is bitch about inconveniences women face, and deny male suffering. Male victimization, male suffering, it just isn’t real in their mind, it’s blotted out by their neurotic driven bigotry.
This also explains why they can’t pickup on their every day double standards. They champion abortion as “a women’s issue” and “a woman’s right” and then bitch that in some countries, aborting female fetuses are far more common then the abortion of male fetuses, and they call this an injustice against women, they call it “gendercide”. Yet refuse to acknowledge that the “murder and genocide” of these females, is only possible because of abortion; a thing they champion as a womens issue and right. And they completely blot out the part where it is women making the decision as to when to have these abortions.
This is a case where the perpetration by the female is blotted out of their brains, and only the gender of the victim matters.
but when it comes to something like violence against men, they blot out the gender of the victim, and count only the gender of the perpetrator.
and thus the “men are perpetrators women are victims” mentality is perpetuated. In the feminist arena, men don’t HAVE problems, men ARE problems.
How many decades has this cliche been around when sane people mocked feminism by saying: Women good; men bad.
Exactly, only women are victims only men are perpetrators.
I have no doubt this is how the minds of the German nazi’s worked: only Germans are victims only Jews are perpetrators. This would have been an essential way of rationalizing the mass murder of 6 million people who happen to be born to the wrong type of family.
I have no doubt the white nationalists pull the same mental gymnastics: “blacks rape white women, blacks steal and murder.”
But when you bring up that so do whites… it goes over their head. If you bring up the Klan “Kluxing” negros, they’d say “not all Klansmen are like that”.
Seeing “your kind” as only victims of “their kind”, and being unable to see perpetration by “your kind” against “their kind” is an essential staple of bigotry.
Feminists complain that women are war time victims, due to females getting raped. They conveniently overlook that a thousand times as many men were killed. But again, in their brains, there is no victim category for men, so it isn’t recognized.
Furthermore, her question, demanding an answer; not a comparison, is problematic for this reason:
What if a white guy says “as a white man, I fear making eye contact with black men, do you fear making eye contact with white men?”
and the black guy retorts “Hey I fear getting jumped by black men too! And most black violence is against black men!” and the white guy says “No, I said WHITE men, do you fear making eye contact with white men?”
Remember back in the 90’s when American violence was at an all time high, and so much of it was black violence? Remember the slogan “stop the black on black violence”?
Do you remember how there were people saying “Why not say ‘stop the violence’, or 'stop the black violence’, are you advocating for black on white violence?” because they just didn’t understand. Black violence was a serious problem back then (and to some extent still is) but what was being pointed out by that slogan is that whitey needs to chill, most of the black violence was against black people. And so those rappers that would end their concerts with “stop the black on black violence” were not denying problems were coming from blacks, they were perfectly willing to acknowledge the role of blacks in the perpetration; but they were also trying to remind the world, this is a problem that also affects “us” more than any other group.
Chris Rock did a comedy bit called “Blacks vs Niggers” where he comically pointed out it ain’t white people, it ain’t the media, it’s “niggers” that is fucking shit up. But he also made it clear, it’s “us” black people who are predominantly the victims of this shit. Imagine him just saying “Yeah I know you white people gotta deal with some of the problems blacks are causing, but before you start… sit down, shut up, give us blacks a chance to bitch about it first, since we’re primarily the ones who have to deal with it.”
And that is what I am trying to get through to this feminist. Yeah, men are violent, they do assault people more than women, but it’s men that have to deal with it; stop trying to make this all about you.
Rape, which is a type of assault, happens more from men on to women (unless you count prison, which would make men the primary victims of rape). But feminists focus on rape, the only type of assault that disproportionately affects them. They know if they bitch about assault in general, they’d have to go back to making up their fake statistics, or acknowledge that men are the majority victims.
She also dismisses the Male Tears meme:
“if you think "bathing in male tears” is sexist, you are a huge, crying baby.“
Says the woman representing an ideology that cries victim and rape culture and sexism because of rape jokes. So rape jokes is a reason for Feminists to get all bent out of shape and hold up signs saying "this is why I need feminism” but men doing the same with the “bathe in male tears” meme just need to man up and grow a pair… riiiiiight.
Let me just end with this little picture I made yesterday
A response to Kirsten Gillibrand: ‘The American Dream Is Not True for So Many Women’
I was logging into Yahoo Mail when I seen this news story.
And here is my response to some of that crap:
…Women are made differently [than men], and because of those differences, we can offer something unique…
Um, what? Having ovaries, a vagina and lactating breasts means you can offer something unique to congress? If she meant “built different psychologically” than there goes the feminist claim that the men and women are interchangeable and gender is some made up social construct.
…If we had 51 percent of women in Congress, we wouldn’t have spent the last four years debating contraception…
The amount of women that oppose forcing government and healthcare insurance to pay for contraception is roughly equal to men. The amount of women that oppose abortion are roughly equal to men.
I always hear women say, 'I’m not ready,’ … If a woman is running for office, she feels she has to have a PhD in international economics to talk about trade policy. A man just feels he needs to drive a Honda.
If women need special encouragement to apply for leadership positions before they emotionally “feel” ready, and men do not, than this is a statement that males are better leaders. Leaders aren’t people who need support, encouragement, and a red carpet laid out for them; they take the bull by the horns and “take” control.
I do however agree with her statement about daycare being too expensive. But raising minimum wage will do nothing about that except cause inflation. And we do need better/cheaper daycare, so that women can be independent (rather than parasitically leaching off their working husband) and be motivated to have children. As it is, women can choose to be useless stay-at-home mothers popping out babies at the expense of her husband, or she can be a childless career woman.
“They are exposed to so much abuse and violence: I have seen boys come in who cannot even sit down. No 15-year-old should go through that,”
“Why does this not shock and enrage people as much as it does when it’s girls?”
“They are no less vulnerable and abused than girls who are trafficked into sex work. Yet it is much more hidden, so there’s much less sympathy, and far fewer resources for boys,”
“The dialogue in Thailand - and around the world - is focused on women and girls, because the general perception is that boys are big and strong, and that they can take care of themselves,"
