What makes you seek art therapy?
hey so how do you tell your longtime partner that one of the reasons you’re suicidal is because of years of no affection (including but not limited to sex) without making them feel like they need to always consent to your advances? I’m, uh, asking for a friend.
IDK who needs to see this today but if you see a post or bit of media with a call to action like “buy an electric car” or “plant a garden” and you don’t have the money for a replacement car (new or otherwise) and you don’t have access to land for a garden (community pea patches, dirt at the house you rent, window boxes, the spoons for the labor) then-
My friend, you are the person that work is _for_.
During the pandemic, I didn’t only work from home to keep me safe. I did it to reduce the risk for people who didn’t have that option; one fewer plague rat out in their world. When I take the bus it makes the roads less crowded for my mobility impaired mother who does drive.
There’s only so much individuals can accomplish, at some point we gotta vote. Me working from home didn’t do shit compared to stimulus checks. But it was something. It was a thing I could do to help my neighbors and I’m glad I did it.
Please don’t feel bad if the advice about what individuals can do doesn’t apply to you. I wish, rather, for you to feel loved, and I hope this post helps that happen.
It’s 3:40AM, two days before my 20th birthday. Looking back on the last 10 years of my life; well it was quite the rollercoaster. And overall, I didn’t think I was going to make it to 20. There was nights when I screamed into my pillow and dragged the razor across my skin. I didn’t want to be here on this beautiful earth and I didn’t want to burden anyone else. Five years ago. I wouldn’t have fallen in love, had the many friends and amazing support system I have now, or have made the move to the wonderful place I now call home. I am so glad I didn’t end it when I wanted to. 20 is going to feel amazing.

Mental Health As A POC vs Media.
The situation with Naomi Osaka was a recall to this prevalent problem.
I always find that as a poc, especially as one that is less ambiguous, whether one is a celebrity or not comes with a certain treatment when it comes to mental health.
It isn’t taken as seriously, it isn’t handled as delicately and problems are seen as almost non existent.
Please remember it is always YOU and YOUR mental health over other things. Take what time you have to when you need.
