The nestlé rabbit mascot in a corporate suit version of his usual clothes. He's cheerfully saying "The best stolen water, and the cheapest chocolate child labor can buy"

Nestlé is a monster selling things no one needs, & that isn’t theirs to sell. [ 12345]

Its ironic and cruel to knowingly put something in a child’s hands which took the labor of other children to make.

Hello! Sorry for being gone so long. I was very sick :p! Anyway let’s kick off the return with Shapes!!

This 2005 Nestle Kit Kat ad uses the geometric shape of their product creatively. They use rectangular shape of their product and transform it into a bench. Since the product is reminiscent of the wooden planks benches are made out of.

I WOULD PAY TEN TIMES AS MUCH FOR CHOCOLATE IF IT MEANT REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF SLAVES IN THE WORLD? HOW IS THIS ANY KIND OF PROBLEM.

good news, you can! the company’s called Tony’s Chocolonely and their entire purpose is to make slave-free chocolate and reform the chocolate industry.

Whole Foods carries it. If you don’t want to support an Amazon-owned company, World Market carries it. You can also buy it directly from the company.

It’s the best chocolate I’ve ever had and it’s 100% slave free. Tony’s Chocolonely works really hard to push for transparency within the chocolate industry and actually has and is following an action plan to eliminate slavery within cocoa production. They’re good people who make good chocolate.

Tony’s has dark chocolate! And it’s vegan!

At over 100F with tens of thousands of acres of forest on fire in Southern California, it sure feels like Armageddon.

Boycott Arrowhead Water. Boycott Nestle.  Stop them from sucking water from our drought stressed forests.

They say they can be trusted to monitor the environmental impact of removing 64 plus millions gallons a year from The San Bernadino Forest in Southern California.

Like fuck.

They weren’t concerned when infant mortality went up 10-20% from baby formula users in the third world.   I don’t think they’re gonna care too much about wildlife, forests, or frankly anything but their bottom line.

Nestle Sucks.  Our Aquifers.  Literally.

A week ago I was in the US Federal Court in Riverside, CA to sit in on a hearing brought against the Forest Service to get Nestle to stop pumping water on an expired permit until an environmental impact study is conducted.  Today, as wildfires rage around the Southland and we experience a record setting heatwave –102F in the shade in downtown LA– I have to wonder at the fact that no law currently exists prohibiting a private company from removing undisclosed amounts of water from our land.

Nestle is paying nothing, drawing on a permit which expired in 1988.  There is no oversight.  The Forestry Service supervisor who oversaw the original permitting went on the work as a consultant at Nestle.

Their CEO is on record stating that water is not a human right, and should best be regulated to corporation.  Uh-oh.  This points to a very scary end game.  We can all get along without oil.  But water?  Not so much, it’s pretty well game over.  Aside from being thirsty, you can’t grow food without water.  Or trees or bees or support any wildlife at all.  Be afraid.  Be very, very afraid.

I sat quietly outside the courtroom before we it was open, and heard the two Forestry Service employees (one of whom, Judy Noiron, the SB Forest Supervisor, was named in the suit) joking with their lawyer about the poor public turnout in support of the environmental review.  They were so cynical and disgusting in their disdain, I had to say, “You know, a tree can’t go to the 7 Eleven for a bottle of water.  I wonder what sort of job Nestle must have promised you to make this worthwhile?”.

Please rally for your right to access water.  Demand protection from your Government, wherever you are, from this corporate greed which seeks to control water rights around the world.  Educate yourself and consider the kind of world you wish to live in.  Make a noise.

Oregon voters kicked them out by getting a popular initiative put on the ballot last month.

Boycott Arrowhead Water.

losttoy:

California is in its fourth year of one of the worst droughts in modern history, with recent reports showing only enough water to last the state one more year. Keep in mind that this is a state whose water fuels a major portion of our entire nation’s food supply. But while residents are urged to conserve water and are facing mandatory water usage restrictions, Nestlé is bottling this scarce resource straight from the heart of California’s drought, exporting it out of state, and selling it for profit. And this is all happening right under the state water regulator’s nose!

JOIN US to call on the California Water Resources Control Board to immediately shut down Nestlé’s bottling operations during this devastating drought!

I wonder if the state buys this back from Nestle to hand out to all the Central Valley residents who no longer have running water?
