#net neutrality
The motion to repeal Net Neutrality has been passed in a 3-2 vote
Before everyone losses their shit, I will like to urge everyone to talk a deep breath and focus on the following:
1: This cannot go into immediate effect.
2: There is still many issues that WILL be addressed by the Congress, Supreme Court, and many other government officials have a current say in the false comments, stolen idenities, denial of public hearings, and many other issues that the FCC did not address.
3: CALL. YOUR. OFFICALS. Do NOT give up, just because the vote has passed, don’t you DARE stop. Make this shit go front-page, make some NOISE.
DO. NOT. STOP.
Fuck outta here with that shit.
Are you 3rd party voters happy?
Trumps goons killed internet freedom.
Still glad you voted for a ham sandwich, Johnson & Jill “WiFi hurts children” Stein?
Same goes for you people that are too ignorant and lazy to vote. You own this as much as anyone.
just a quick friendly reminder that the closing votefornet neutrality is on december 14th. so call your state representatives. if you can’t do that for any reason, it’s okay. you can still help by texting “RESIST” to 50409 and you’ll get a text back from resistbot. from there, you tell it your name, and then address (so it can find your officials) and then you can chose to send a fax to
a)congress
b)house
c)senate
d)president
or
e)governor
after that’s all good and done and you’ve picked your option it’ll have you write a quick little message (or a long one, you can send as many messages as you want) and then the resistbot will fax your messages for you! iprobably don’t need to say this, but once it’s gone, it’s GONE. we need to do what we can to save it.

Writers of the past warned us about letting Big Brother and alike in our lives, either with or without consent for a generous and obvious amount of reasons. Today we have compromised quite a bit with the triangulation of privacy between us, government, corporations, and where the value should be placed at; however, there’s also a great deal in politics that comes with it.
This week Amazon publicly bloomed another interesting idea in terms of delivery and privacy polarization which involved the users receiving his/her goods, with theAmazon Keyservice where the delivery person has access to your home via a kit costing $249.99. This service requires Amazon Prime and the bundle includes a smart lock and a cloud cam to monitor the delivery personnel to your home, which basically translates into Amazondropping your package entering your doors.
Paying to have strangers in your home?
I’ve heard different complains up until now about couriers dropping packages to the front door and eventually getting stolen by someone else. We are talking about packages which cannot fit in the common mail box and are delivered the homeowner aren’t in. Here we have a common problem where there’s data missing in the form of service between the user and the business. But delivering a package without anyone stealing it is more an issue of drop-off timing and setups.
Ever since the internet became widely and commercially available we stepped backwards in terms of privacy rights and user rights. There’s an ongoing battle to protect not only the neutrality of the internet but also the privacy of the user. This is not a confrontation to safeguard what we go online for, it’s a struggle to keep sensible data away from those who might use it against us. Social Security numbers, credit cards information, shopping habits, health status, and so on; the struggle gets more and more intense every time
The extension of 3rd party body into our privacy is now a reality…
In terms of privacy users aren’t helping the cause as they are voluntarily giving up personal information at no cost to online social platforms. Facebook knows a great deal of every user and it crosses such data with other apps like Instagram to provide exact persona and behavior; great amount of data sold to corporations for business purposes comes from platforms like Twitter, Tinder, Snapchat, Youtube .
By using Amazon Key we remove the last boundary of security we hold by letting strangers in our homes despite being monitored; however, how secure will these locks be? If modern cars can get hacked, how long do you think it’ll take to remotely open a door? But ultimately, how much are you willing to give just to have your package inside your door. Is this all worth it?

If you live outside the US YOU CAN STILL ACT to save Neutrality! You can send a message to Ajit Pai directly demanding he and FCC keep Title II regulations that keep the Internet accessible, open, free to everyone WORLD WIDE
What you do TODAY helps determine the future of our Super Information highway
We saved the Internet BEFORE!We can do it again
Net Neutrality isn’t an American problem. Its Global.
SO you’re in the UK like me. Or the EU in general. High speed internet is a ‘right’ here. We won’t be affected, right?
Right?
Wrong.
If you watch YouTube then you’re in for a world of hurt. Not only will American Youtubers have their uploads strangled, but their viewers will drop off at an alarming rate as people can’t afford the extra and the internet is too slow to watch videos and streams. Less views, less revenue, less money to pay bills.
Even International youtubers will go broke as their American audience drops off. Big Youtubers may still make a living, but everyone else will drop off the platform.
There are far bigger issues at steak here. Censorship, corruption etc, but if you’re reading this you watch YouTube.
Act now or lose it forever. Spread the word to all your fandoms.
Go protest.
I’ve often wondered what would kill the immortal object that is the Internet, but if anything is gonna do it, this is gonna be it.
This is super imporant. Go to this site and protest. For just a few minutes of your time we could save the internet so please take a second. If you can’t call or email them then share this site around so we can get as many people as possible
I don’t know about the rest of you but I certainly don’t want to lose the internet, let alone lose it because of some Congress shitheads that only care about money
This isn’t my type of post but Net Neutrality is so important.
Forget your page’s aesthetic, share this with everyone you know. Without Net Neutrality, the internet itself would change.
Companies would be able to charge websites if they want them to load faster than others on your computer. This means that they would purposefully bottleneck speeds on every website that doesn’t have the funding to pay for it faster speed. There’s NO reason for this. Are you a small business with a website and can’t afford to pay enough to get faster speeds? Too bad. Are you someone with a personal blog? Slow page loading. Do you want to view a website written by a nonprofit organization for your school project? You’ll have to wait until the page loads because, since they’re nonprofit, they can’t afford to pay enough to cable companies so that their page loads faster.
An alternative to this would be having to pay for faster internet. Internet service should be priced by usage, not speed. For home internet, unlimited use isn’t all that expensive so it’s really common. You wouldn’t want to pay extra for more speed.
This would possibly affect the way that the internet works on other devices such as your phone, gaming system, laptop, tablet, etc.
We NEED Net Neutrality.
If a company doesn’t agree with a specific website, they could purposefully limit traffic to their site. This would be censorship, something that nobody likes.
There are many other reason as to why you should protect Net Neutrality.
This is an issue whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, Left-wing, Right-wing, young, old, male, female, rich, poor, etc.
EVERYONE SHOULD ADVOCATE FOR NET NEUTRALITY.
^
Guys, also think about he wider costs. Every business, school, hospital, pharmacy, first responder, government service—every single one uses the Internet. So, yes, the individual user will pay more for access, but so will the institutional users. The thing is, the institutional users aren’t just going to eat the increase in costs. They will pass them on to the consumer. They always do.
Education, healthcare, every single product and service, plus your local, state, and Federal taxes, will all GO UP.
Losing net neutrality will affect the cost of every single product and service offered in this country. Every. Single. One.
Remember the last time the FCC nearly killed net neutrality?
Tumblr had this nice big banner at the top of your dashboard alerting any active user about the problem. Guess what has changed since then? Verizon, one of the companies gunning for the death of net neutrality owns yahoo who in turn own Tumblr. Spread the word, tell everyone you can: battleforthenet.com tag posts you see about net neutrality with popular tags so the news spreads.
the fact that nobody on my dash is talking about net neutrality is baffling like? if net neutrality is removed, IT WILL AFFECT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU. the internet will no longer be free, just imagine having to pay a LOT of money to use websites and things like tumblr, google, twitter, youtube, facebook, amazon, instagram, snapchat, skype, discord, gaming services, ALL social media platforms, email, etc. it will completely demolish our internet freedom. imagine the poor artists, bloggers, photographers, and other content creators will be making things into a complete void where nobody will see anything because we wont be able to afford to. you will end up paying a ton of money for slower internet and far less privileges, IF you are able to afford it. we all lose big time with this and nobody seems to care.
call your senator!! this website has a script provided in case you dont know what to say
