When I grow up I want to be,
One of the harvesters of the sea.
I think before my days are done,
I want to be a fisherman.

Wagakki Band - Tokyo Singing (14.10.2020) [★★★★★]
Already appeared with: Yasou emaki (2015),Shikisai (2017),Otonoe (2018)
Following about two years, intervalled by singles and an EP, Wagakki Band comes back with a brand-new album. Their sound appears refreshed and invigorated, thanks also to a stronger connection with the Western music (there’s a duet with Amy Lee of Evanescence), where Yuko’s awesome vocals and the incredible instrumental work in each track are the best features. Wagakki Band is back to bringing more of their unique colors and notes in a world which really needs it.

Yae - On The Border (07.10.2020) [★★★★★]
Yae is known mostly for her songs being used for the videogame Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, but actually she has a respectful career, featuring a bunch of albums and singles. For celebrating her 20th anniversary, she brought up a work which totally breaks all the barriers of common music, between acoustic guitars, crystalline notes and Yae’s powerful vocals (she sings also in Spanish). An album made for everyone, for who has the heart and the soul for enjoying a timeless music, going beyond time and space.

Mika Nakashima - Joker (07.10.2020) [★★★★]
Mika Nakashima is known for having portrayed Nana in the live-action movies based on the famous manga, but nowadays she is definitely one of the most renowned female artists of Japanese pop scene. After three years, she comes back with a new album, bringing on several songs made of catchyness and positivity, alternating sweet melodies to more energetic ones and seeing collaborations with musicians like HydeandSalyu.

LiSA - LEO-NiNE (14.10.2020) [★★★★]
Another female singer who is rising up is LiSA, who has always brought a more rebellious and coloured image than most of her colleagues, and this reflects also on her sound, as seen in her 5th album. The album sees an energetic and animated sound, distributed between good riffs and a nice use of electronic, along with LiSA’s clear and passionate vocals, which can become even deeper when it is needed.

rem†non†rem - 0.01 (01.10.2020) [★★★★]
Formed on 2017, the visual kei band rem†non†rem might seem one of the many coming and going, but despite everything, their latest work demonstrates that they shouldn’t be underrated. Their sound is quite peculiar, remindful of 90′s visual kei era, a forgotten but still appreciated style, made of nostalgical and gloomy notes, accompained by enigmatic vocals and a mysterious concept. If you are a listener who still lives into the past, this band should be in the playlist.

Sokoninaru - Choetsu [Transcendence](07.10.2020)
Sokoninaru can be definitely considered one of the last revelations of Japanese music. Formed on 2011, this duo has a really unique style compared to other rock bands, with a sound embracing shades of progressive and hard rock. Their latest work focuses mainly on the intensity brought by their sound, where the guitars create an incredible effect, between hard hits and piercing riffs, along with paced rhythms and quite mature vocals, shaping up each song in an unique way. Sokoninaru can definitely boost the Japanese rock scene.

Vangelis (RIP) – Blade Runner (30th Anniversary Edition)
Vangelis has passed away in Paris at the age of 79. His reputation needs no introduction to connoisseurs of music, especially those into soundtracks. For my money, Blade Runner was the jewel in his crown. May he Rest In Peace.
