From the GoFundMe page:

Hi, my name is Dr. Leo Panagiotakopoulos. I am working with QMed to provide gender-affirming care to kids, adolescents, and young adults across 13 states (and counting!!!). My passion is delivering much-needed transgender care to the most vulnerable of persons. Those with no insurance and families with Medicaid that are struggling to make ends meet and have to decide between groceries or medical care for their kids.

I want to dedicate a part of my professional time to provide care to those who cannot afford to access the care I provide. The funds will be used to reimburse for appointment costs, medication costs, and patient education materials.

$500 pays for one patient’s doctor visits and lab testing for a whole year.

$600 pays for one patient’s medications for a whole year.

$100,000 raised will provide complete care to 100 transgender pediatric/adolescent patients. The money raised will only be used for uninsured or Medicaid patients.

Please help me raise money to fund these costs for families and patients that need them the most.

Thank you so much for helping!

The “Hogwarts Legacy” game is trending, as well as a scene in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of DumbledorewhereinAlbus finally confirms he was in love with a man.

Here is a really great YouTube video (also trending) which breaks down many kinds of bigotry inherent in the Harry Potterseries.Even at nearly two hours long, it can’t cover allof J.K. Rowling’s racism, ableism, sexism, homophobia, fatphobia, and classism. I recommend it as a good starting place.

Buying official Harry Potter merch supports Rowling.

Supporting J.K. Rowling is morally indefensible.

Take care of yourselves, and trans rights are human rights!

XOXO, Earnest

Reminder that cis people get “gender-affirming” procedures performed all the time! Most electrolysis and laser hair removal is performed on cis women, and it’s safe and legal to perform on teenagers. Most breast augmentation and butt/hip enhancement is performed on cis women. Cis women are the most common recipients of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Cis men are the ones who receive most testosterone therapy, testicular prosthesis, jaw and chin implants (though this is on the rise in cis women, too), beard transplants, and implants designed to mimic muscle mass in biceps, calves, and abs.

Andsurgery on sexual organs? Yep, cis people get that, too.

Most of these procedures are performed to help the recipient feel more “feminine” or “masculine,” or to move them closer to a gendered beauty standard. Although they’re often left out of the discussion, intersex people receive many of these therapies and procedures as well. Just as with trans individuals, gender-affirmation is important to mental and physical health. Laws designed to limit access to medical care for trans folks affect us all.

But honestly?

Hurting trans folks is reason enough to oppose them.

Affirming your gender is your right.

You have no right to interfere with someone else’s medical care.

So, in case you were wondering:

TERFs aren’t welcome here. Fuck off.

Just me crying in the bathroom so I don’t wake my partners with this, fuck.

So to sum up: CT and DC have passed laws making it illegal to extradite someone to another state if they are being charged in that other state for crimes pertaining to abortion or trans health care, and makes it legal to sue and get your money back if you are targeted by a TX-style “bounty” law. DC also includes “crimes” of consensual adult sex, gay and interracial marriage and cohabitation and providing or using contraception.

This is, as the thread explains, basically legal interstate warfare. CT and DC’s laws bar compliance with such laws.

This is, on one hand, kind of terrifying, because this is where we are now. It’s going to get worse long before it gets better.

On the other hand… holy shit, someone fucking did something.

Someone fucking did something real.

Trans people are not cryptids or unicorns. They exist. They’ aren’t something to choose for you whether or not you want to “believe” in it. By not wanting to admit their existence, you’re simply just ignorant and delusional ty <3

I know you got a lot of good things up ahead

The past is gone it’s all been said

So here’s to what the future brings

I hope tomorrow you find better things

My first real attempt at ‘No Shave November’ - Day 20.

I’ve always struggled to grow anything in this area of my beard, so now it’s coming in at 3 years and 11 months on T, to say I’m relieved is an understatement.
