Guardians have some level of unification via the organization known as the Chorus. It is not an authoritative or commanding organization, more one of bookkeeping and providing resources. The feeling it has is more like a library, and in early times, information was kept track of in magical books. In modern times, it’s more of a magical-digital database.

Telahiel’s current Guardian incarnation! They often go by Tela and accept any pronouns. He is a Principality as well.

The administrators, referred to as the Principalities, regularly communicate with the Seraphim through dreams; they sleep upon a magic circle that allows their minds to blend with the collective consciousness of the Seraphim within their dreams without destroying their body with their Grace. When they wake, much of it fades like a dream, but they will generally know of any new Guardians so they can check the database, and they will occasionally remember a few details, sometimes of important current, past, or even possible future events. They record their dreams in books they call “Revelations,” which may contain arguably prophetic information, but much of it can be mundane or confusing. If there is actually something important, then the Principalities may contact other angels to act.

Being a Principality is a bit like volunteer work, generally for those walking the path of Grace. Some take it as their eternal duty, while others just volunteer for a bit every now and then.

There are two possibilities for mortalization: through the process of reincarnation or merging with a stillborn child (or one that will be). Through the process of reincarnation, they seal their power and memory and become dormant, waiting for the birth of the next human, and they will form as the soul of that child. If they merge with a stillborn, they will seal their power and memory at the same time as when they nestle into the cradle of the body, bringing it back to life. In either case, they can direct the unsealing of their memory to some extent—for instance, they may want to first remember their goal if they have one, and if they want to keep their identity as an angel hidden.

If a Seraph were to manifest in the mundane plane, reality would distort and become chaotic, possibly leading to things such as burning skies, rain of light, churning earth, bloody seas, etc. After they leave, most effects will fade, but geographies may change from churned earth. Those who directly lay eyes upon them may be blinded in exchange for a glimpse of the vastness of Seraphim. Mortal minds may be cracked by their presence, which could lead to long-term effects such as uncontrollable visions of the past, possible futures, and the Heavenly Circles, as well as an unstable psyche. Corrupt individuals may actually go up in flames and perish, cleansing the soul of everything both good and bad and giving a new chance in reincarnation.

The Heavenly Circles formed in the beginning of time from primordial angelic essence, an energy of the primal first light in the universe. That which would become the Seraphim existed in some sense, but there was no will, no personality, no ego. As the first mortal souls formed and the earliest humans began to ascend and scatter the essence of their ascended souls in the Aether, echoes of will aggregated and formed the first Seraphim.

As a whole, angels are exceedingly selfless. They are aggregations of primordial energy and the essence of those who have achieved complete fulfillment and satisfaction in existence. Their souls crave nothing at a fundamental, metaphysical level. As Seraphim, they exist in unified contentment; perhaps they sing in the heavens unfathomable songs, or shape the Circles into ever more beautiful forms. They may act upon the mundane plane if they wish. As Guardians, they exist for the sake of bettering the world, choosing to undergo the ordeal of life once more for the sake of others.

The Council came about in ancient times, after mass killings from fledgelings led to widespread fear and resentment of their kind. The older vampires banded together to create a Council that set up rules and regulations for their kind, which includes matters regarding turning, raising fledgelings, etc. In more modern times, there are more restrictions on circumstances in which vampires can interact with mundane humans. They keep a registry of all existing vampires, which is somewhat helped by the older members being closer to the origin of their bloodline and being able to sense when new vampires of their bloodlines are made. The Council is also responsible for exacting punishments and such for disobeying their laws.

In modern times, the Council consists of ten members, five older members and five younger members. Every ten years, one of the older members is to step down and be replaced, with the existing council nominating an individual to take their place. The nominee can accept or reject, with the latter case resulting in the council nominating a new member. The younger members have a different system—they are nominated and elected by the general vampiric community.

Eluma, she/they.

A will formed from the magic of an ancient forest, gradually growing in consciousness and power over thousands and thousands of years. Astrum arrived at her planet one day, and Seillein wandered into her forest. After some conversation and fun times, she manifested a significant portion of her will into a dragonlike form, resembling some seen from Seillein’s minds. 

This particular fragment of her will is “Eluma,” and she is still connected to the will of the forest on the planet. She joined Astrum out of a wish to see the worlds beyond, but still remains attached to her origin.

A major part of vampire culture is intimacy, mental and physical closeness with each other. If it were to be defined, it would largely be considered platonic and familial in nature but not necessarily. A vampire bite by nature is deeply intimate, and the act is ingrained into their culture wherever they are.

Vampires will often only feed or allow others to feed from them if they are close or they trust each other, and for some individuals, they feed often simply to feel close to one another and not necessarily for the practical purpose of feeding.
