Even though I’m the biggest Mulder & Scully shipper, I always wanted Scully & Monica to make out. And yet, it failed to clue me in about my sexuality, LOL….
Never forget how beautiful their friendship was. Never forget that Monica became Scully’s most trusted and loyal friend. Never forget that Monica put herself in harm’s way several times just to keep Scully and William safe. Never forget how much ass they kicked together, or made each other laugh, or how much Scully trusted her with William. Never forget these two beautiful cinnamon rolls.
So, what’s our head canon on when Scully found out that she was pregnant? Did she know or suspect in Nothing Lasts Forever and that’s why she needed to spend so much time lighting candles in a church or did she find out sometime afterward? She kind of acted like she knew then and needed to mull over what to do and establish where she and Mulder were at in their relationship. But she also didn’t freak out after falling down a garbage chute and you’d think she would’ve if she knew she was pregnant. And if the original order of episodes was that Familiar came after Something Lasts Forever, how long was she going to wait to tell Mulder?
So Karen Nielsen, the writer of Nothing Lasts Forever, gave a thumbs up to my tweet in which I mentioned the parallels between what Mulder said to Scully in the church and what he said in Requiem. I asked if this was coincidence or a deliberate allusion. Because it if is an allusion, it is significant because Requiem was the episode where Scully learned she was pregnant. However, she did not respond to the question, and I cannot assume the thumbs up meant a confirmation that it was an allusion. She might have been giving a thumbs up to me saying that I loved the episode. However, if the similarities in the dialogue were merely a coincidence, it would be easy enough to say so. But to not respond makes me wonder if she’s dodging an answer because of how it points to the pregnancy spoiler. If she didn’t know how similar it was to Requiem, she might not want to admit to being unaware of the similarities to a very significant episode. But also I know she got feedback from long timers, so I cannot imagine no one mentioned it. (Although somehow long timers failed to tell Ben Van Allen, who wrote Familiar, that Emily was the name of name of Scully’s daughter and to suggest another name). Thoughts?
Currently watching the ep, and idk if it’s just me or whateva, BUT it seemed that in this scene/part ⬇️⬇️ It was already shown or foreshadowed (way before it was announced) that Scully was preggers or something bc of her vision
It’s been forever since I’ve written fic, but that “season finale” inspired me to try to make sense of the nonsense, and maybe give Mulder and Scully a chance to start to deal with the shit they’ve been dragged through.

It’s dawn when Mulder shifts the car into park. A drizzle mists the windshield, muddying the house’s looming form, the dim glow of the porch light their only welcome. Next to him, Scully sleeps deeply, his jacket tucked into the crook of her neck.
He reaches across the console to touch her cheek. “We’re home.”
She stirs, blinking, before fumbling at the door handle in a rush. She’s out of the car before he can offer to help, making her way to the house. He watches with concern as she pauses at the foot of the steps, leaning on the porch railing for a moment as if to catch her breath, before disappearing around the side of the house. He winces when he hears retching.
