Healthy sprouts in six days.

Bringing healthy food to the table, especially for the growing children, has never been this easy. We soak the seeds the first day for 24 hours. Then every morning and evening we fill the jars with water to do a shake and rinse. So, simply fill the jars, shake and pour the water out. once you’ve shaken the water out of the jars simply lay the jars on their side next to the sink. Keep them close and convenient. In six days you’ll have jars full of clean and organic sprouts for salads and sides. The nutritional value is exponentially higher when the beans open and the taproot grows. This is a great solution for anybody who feels they are too busy to grow their own healthy foods. With simple old-school methods no one has excuses and there is no light required. Moreover, the sweet and crunchy experience usually wins over the children.

From our experience, if you have an active lifestyle and need easily digestible foods that translate into quick and clean energy, this is definitely a route for you guys to explore.

Why do I sprout:

generally, the sprouting process increases nutrient levels, making sprouts richer and more easy to digest.

How:

sprouts are seeds that have germinated and become very young plants.

This germination process usually begins with the seeds being soaked for several hours. They need to be washed twice day.

The soaked seeds are then exposed to the right combination of temperature and moisture, and allowed to grow for two to seven days.
The end product is generally a sprout measuring 1/8–2 inches (2–5 cm) long.

Raw or Cooked:
sprouts can be eaten raw. But if you sprout legumes like chickpeas, beans, peas, you should soak them a minimum
of 4 days!
I prefer to cook my legumes for about 3 minutes on high temperature.

Nuts:
You can soak nuts to break down the physic acid and make them even more healthier. I mostly don’t do it since the amount is only bad for you if you eat way to much.

A bright side of the very strange year that was 2020 - it gave me lots of time to focus on things I normally don’t make time for. 

One of those things was focusing on my skin. I haven’t gone out in public without makeup on since my teen years! Between the daily makeup wear, stress, the sun, aging, hormones, and pollutants in the air my pores were in desperate need of some TLC. The kind people from Derma E sent me an amazing care package of products to help out with that. The products they sent include hyaluronic acid, when I’m learning is the secret to having well hydrated skin! Their Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water Eye Gel came in especially handy when I’d need to freshen up after a good cry. 

I’m pleased to report that, by the end of 2020 I achieved what was previously unthinkable to me, something I didn’t think I would ever feel confident doing: sharing photos of my bare makeup free face! A tray of lettuce and arugula is coming in. I’m thinking to just grow these as micro greens, harvest directly from the tray.

These sprouts are coming out better than the first batch.

Sunflower seed sprouts. Three weeks start to finish.

The salad is goat cheese, avocado and sunflower sprouts.

The sand which is avocado, pepper jack cheese, turkey bacon and sunflower sprouts.

Sunflower Spouts two weeks since starting. Maybe one more week and they’ll be ready to start harvesting

One week in and the sprouts are doing their sprout thing.

It’s raining today and this is the view from my kitchen door.

Day later and the sunflower seeds are sprouting. Heat mat is at 74 degrees.

Black oil sunflower seed sprouting. Just started a tray. Also soaking some more in the fridge. Fresh micro greens are in our future.
