final little push. I’ll be doing some work on my essay until probably 23rd, but interspersed with watching christmas films and going on dog walks, so fairly lowkey. fortunately the essay is super interesting + I’m so happy that this course has opened up so many different schools of thought and ways of reading in just one term! also extremely pleased with this table in my bedroom, now that my desk is gathering dust in my house for a couple of weeks. when I hurried back a couple of days ago, I did make it a priority to bring my laptop stand in my suitcase (people often ask - it’s this guy, and I couldn’t recommend it more! https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/braeda-laptop-support-bamboo-veneer-30384822/

hope everyone is safe, well + starting to wind down for the holidays. it’s been rough, and weird, recently and, really, all year, and the news is getting difficult to listen to again, but we’ve all pulled through and a bit of indulgence is certainly in order now!

I’m home alone this week, a thing I consider to be a great gift. I have graduation tomorrow and a dinner with friends some day this week as well. I’m looking forward to it all, to the end of an era but I am lamenting it in equal amounts, this end does not feel just after the past year and a half.

30.07.21 | went to the cafe last sunday to clear my head while planning the next (this) week and turns out it was a rlly good idea bc it was a super productive afternoon!

Got a lot of my Notion set up - though I’m thinking of doing a bit of an overhaul this weekend - plus some handwriting practice bc my japanese writing is still super messy. I think I’m gonna make it a weekly occurrence and head there again tomorrow bc it was v refreshing nd the chai latte was to die for.

100 days of productivity- day 78 (05/10/21)

Today didn’t start off great - I was really tired after a bad night’s sleep - but it got better as the day went on. Booked my flights to see a friend abroad, went on a short walk, did a meditation session and had a mini nap, then I was right back at it, and ended up having a really productive end of afternoon / evening! So a reminder that you can restart your day at any point (also watch the Netflix meditation series by headspace).

fri. sept. 24 // this week was a lot but worth it. I taught my first guest lecture on gov’t pr in my grad program on wednesday. it felt so full circle lecturing to an intro course while I’m at the tail end of the program. the prof I’ve known for way too long and we had a great chat afterwards about life, my growth, and my future PhD plans.

this morning I got the intro to my thesis approved by my advisor. def wrote it in 30 minutes before our meeting but he praised my writing style and gave great guidance for how in formulating my research questions.
