My collection is changed so much! My teal pot dream is becoming reality. Still have like 10 small pots that aren’t teal to replace. How have you guys been? Send me your questions and comments!

A leaf from my Bear Paw succulent. I got it several months ago and I overwatered it. Thankfully it survived and now growing some new paws

I never noticed it before, but it has a mild stink. My daughter said it smelled like spit I’d have to agree.

Heart-shaped leaves from my Beads Lampranthus.

I thought it’s a timely post for this. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sorry I haven’t posted on here for a while. No particular reason other than life has been super busy for my family. In case you’re wondering, I am still doing this personal project and have no plan to stop Thanks for still following along!

It’s snowing here today! ❄️, thanks to the arctic blast passing through Texas! I hope my Echeveria will survive

Hello my fellow succulent enthusiasts! I wanted to let you all know that this Saturday & Sunday (April 11 & 12) is the CT cactus and succulent show and sale. I went to it last year and thought it was awesome! I bought a shamelessly large number of plants and I can’t wait to go back for more.

Several of you mentioned that you wanted to attend so here’s a reminder that it’s happening again! Info about the event is here:  (don’t judge the event by the website, it’s a pretty dull site, but the event is terrific)

I don’t have many cacti in my succulent collection, but one of the few I do have is a Cephalocereus senilis, Old Man Cactus.  Using my cell phone macro lens I took an up close look at its wispy white hair and prickly hidden spines.  It looks quite lovely up close!

This was one of my first succulent purchases, an Echeveria from the Flower District in Manhattan.  It is my partner in crime’s favorite succulent because it looks like a flower.  I like that up close you can see the patterning on the leaves, it’s almost like frog skin!

Here’s an up close look at one of my favorite succulents, Senecio rowleyanus, String of Pearls.  It is definitely one of the weirdest looking plants in my collection.

An up close look at my Aloe haworthioides.  The spines on the edges of the leaves are deceptive.  They aren’t rigid or prickly on the ends like you often find on succulents (I’m looking at you stabbing agave plant!).  Actually, they are soft to the touch and bend.

Next in the up close look at my succulent collection is this Sedum adolphii.  I picked him up at last year’s Philadelphia Flower Show.  I like how the macro lens gets you closer to the developing leaves and their spiral pattern.  I attended this year’s Flower Show, but didn’t leave with any plants.  It seemed like there were fewer vendors than last year, and I’m also more picky now that my windowsill is all filled up!

HAPPY SUNDAY! My gorgeous Othonna Capensis (ruby necklace) is starting to bloom! This succulent is marvelous. Why?

1) their color changes depending on the amount of light they get.

2) Super easy to propagate. Clip and stick in soil.

3) The flowers are super cute!

4) Super easy to care for.

Question? Ask them away!

Do you grow one? Share any tips

Plants are exactly like cats.

Plants/cats in the wild: Will kill to survive, fuck the system, god trembles in my presence.

Plants/cats in houses: I HAVE ONLY ENOUGH FOOD TO LAST ME A MONTH, I AM GOING TO DIE TOMORROW, NOBODY LOVES ME, I SHALL PERISH IN ANGUISH AND BETRAYAL!!
