Since the Fizzlit enemies encountered in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D World (latter model shown) change between purple when not attacking and yellow when attacking, their model is colored dynamically by the game’s engine instead of using colored textures; as such, the actual model is white.
Top: an idling Fizzlit, dynamically colored purple.
Middle: an attacking Fizzlit, dynamically colored yellow.
Bottom: the actual model as extracted from the files, showing the true white color of the source textures.

Super Mario 3D World contains four different types of small fish swimming around in its water levels. These cannot be seen up close in the original version, and can be only seen marginally more easily in the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury version due to the addition of Snapshot Mode. Here are all four fish models extracted from the game’s files.

This one in particular was quite difficutlt to create. I tried to learn how to render fur in Blender, but it kept turning out poorly, so in the end I had to graft in a lot of fur from other renders, and draw a lot of follicles manually in Photoshop. If anyone has any tips I’m all cat ears.
Lots of the fan art I make is just an excuse to listen to certain music on repeat. For this one it was the amazing “World Bowser” theme from 3D World. Here’s the process gif as always:

ALTDefinitely wanted to try something different. I’m a big fan of the Super Bell power up that was first introduced in Super Mario 3D World as I believe it is frickin adorable.
And yes, I call cat claws “murder mittens” (I own two cats)
