Yes, today I hit 1000 sales on my Etsy store! It’s something I never thought I’d be able to do considering art is strictly a hobby for me, but I’m very happy I accomplished this achievement ✨

[Purple image that says, “Support my work on Patreon and become one of Potsie’s Peeps!” Potsie and Susan are beside this–Potsie gesturing grandly and Susan holding a cup of coffee, unimpressed. She asks, “Do people even say ‘peeps’ anymore?” Below this are smaller images representing the various Patreon tiers–Pint-sized Peep, Primo Peep, Power Peep, Puppy Peep, and Producer Peep. Below these, it says, “Get cool bonus content and my undying gratitude!” Followed by the link to my Patreon, which you can find here.]

I liked this post, scrolled for like another minute before I went “SHIT FUCK SHIT” and scrolled back to reblog it

I always reblog this one when I see it on my dash. When someone posts their own art, writing, or music here they are really hoping you will share it.

Today is the day we usually celebrate Pi Day, but honestly it feels infinitely* silly with so much happening around our pale blue dot. So instead of celebrating an irrational number, we thought we’d share slices* of some small but rational* steps for uplifting one another in difficult times.

As many of you know, we are in the process of setting up our own small (women-owned!) business, and as we work through that process we appreciate even more how much time and energy the artists & vendors we share here have put into their own craft. For many of them, maintaining their livelihoods is especially challenging right now, but luckily, we can help!

Instead of hoarding toilet paper, why not start your winter-holiday gift shopping veryearly!Orstock up on birthday presents, or gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations (with or without in-person ceremonies), Just Because Day! If you’re not sure what someone special (even yourself) might like, purchase a gift card from your favorite artist. Want a custom creation? Message an artist on social media for a commission so they don’t have to pay fees to sites like Etsy. :)

Here are just some** of our favorite small businesses (women, family, and/or minority owned) who could use your support:

Amy Rae Hill (whose commissions like this teapot are out of this world!)

Cepheid Studio (check out her new shinies, like this Hubble pin badge!)

Chrissy Sparks Art (we adore her hand-painted cosmic wooden ornaments)

Cosmic Funnies (whimsicalweb comics, illustrations, stickers and more featuring all your favorite celestial objects)

Design by Liz K

Lost in Space Jewelry (custom Planetary Position Plaques make lovely gifts!)

Megan Lee Studio

Pretty Little Earth

Science Socks (watch this space for more designs!)

Sofie Shen (illustrator extraordinaire who can make your space art dreams come true)

Surlyramics

Tactile Melodies

Two Photon Art (they have some great freebies to download, too!)

Yugen Tribe (our long-time favorites with stunning new designs, like these Solar System beauties)

We’ll continue to share work by these artists and more via this thread over on Twitter!

Socially-distant hugs from across the Universe,

King of Quills (Swords) Tarot card from Brink Literacy Project’s Literary Tarot Deck! Paired with Kelly Sue DeConnick’s interpretation with Marcus Aurelius, we initially took this card down a far more fiery path than we ended up finalizing it with. Here you can see the tonal shift from chaos and battle to the serenity of the aftermath.

To see more of the fantastic artists and authors working on this amazing deck, and to get one yourself, check out the Kickstarter here! Each card is paired with some HUGE names in comics and the literary sphere (Margaret Atwood, Mark Millar, Joel Kim Booster, Roxane Gay to name a FEW), and all the proceeds go towards Brink Literacy Project’s amazing cause. Definitely will be worth your while to at least check it out!

new handmade friend ! baby cinnamoroll is up for sale :3 link here ♡

I had countless technical difficulties during this speed paint that I’m dreading editing the video. BUT I like how she turned out. UNFORTUNATELY the quality ain’t the best cause just as I finished Krita crashed and all my work was gone. Luckily I had the recording of the image so that was there. But it ate at the quality a bit. Oh well. It turned out nicely anyways I’ll make the speed paint of this picture later.

Unfortunately my screen recorder crashed so no speed paint of this. BUUUT I have it done! Tsuki Ootori is my favorite of my OCs so far. I used two shading styles cause idk which one I liked better but here she is.

Creating art is fun and can be a great way to express yourself but it can also be an uniquely isolating experience if you do not have anyone to share it to. Here on this blog, I’m lucky to have people from all over the world who contribute to my posts, whereas my blog not being your typical art blog as the photography isn’t mine and the stories are often people’s from the past. I still, in a way, identify that to be creative. My point is, my aim for this blog was to make a safe and positive community. If you are a fellow artist, photographer, history buff or something else related to the Arts, I’d like to make a one time opportunity to share some of your work.

Speaking of pursuing your creativity, please spend a few minutes of your time to check out the wonderful @dimitrianddarkacademia but they are more well known for their Instagram which you can find of their profile. A lot of their posts include quotes which are near and dear to their heart amongst a mixture of art and photography. Let’s support each other!
