#toussaint
Witcher tips:
Do your best to follow local customs.
Despite frequent air alerts I managed to finish this wonderful bucolic scene I started before the war. My friend @pikapeppacommissioned me this scene with Geralt from The Witcher working in his Toussaint garden. I can’t even begin to tell, how much I enjoyed painting this.
I keep thinking of how beautiful my country will look once we beat the invaders back and start working on restoring all that was lost.
I was thinking about how Toussaint is vaguely based on France and I was thinking it would be cool if instead of France, Toussaint was based on a country like Côté D’Ivoire (the main language there is French - one guess as to why) but I think it would super cool to see a West African inspired fantasy state and Côté D’Ivoire is just so beautiful
Very specifically the aesthetic of Popo Carnaval, which is similar to Mardi Gras, would be such great inspiration for Toussaint.
And it’s so fun seeing various cultures used as inspiration and integrated into fantasy but it’s so rare for non-European countries to be used.
I may add some more thoughts later but for now…s’enjailler!!!
