Marvel Team-Up #11 (Wein/Mooney, July 1973). The Inhumans accompany Spidey back to the 23rd century on a mission to rescue the Avengers from Kang the Conqueror and Zarrko the Tomorrow Man. I’m trying to read these books in six-month chunks now, just to vary things up — it’s kinda working except the Inhumans’ appearance here spoiled/teased something in Fantastic Four comics I haven’t gotten to yet…
Fantastic Four #132 (Thomas/Buscema, Mar 1973). Reed, Ben, and Medusa return to the Inhumans’ Great Refuge, just in time to the Alpha Primitives’ champion… Omega! A pretty satisfying adventure with a status quo shift: Crystal chooses Pietro, Johnny grows up a little and wishes her well, Medusa claims Sue’s vacant spot on the team, and the whole gang get upgraded costumes. (Except Reed, who loves being Mr Fantastic.) These new costumes are silly and I suspect they won’t last long.
Fantastic Four #131 (Thomas/Andru, Feb 1973). Johnny finds Crystal shacked up with a recuperating Pietro. Their lovers’ quarrel is interrupted by an uprising of Alpha Primitives. I guess I forgot that the Inhumans have an enslaved subterranean working class. This sucks??
Fantastic Four #130 (Thomas/Buscema, Jan 1973). Reed can’t keep up with women’s lib so Sue takes Franklin and leaves. Just as Franklin’s starting to show hints of his own powers, too! Gosh, after reading a good chunk of Buscema’s art with Vince Colletta’s sketchy inks, I’m really so impressed with Joe Sinnott’s more elegant ink. It really retains Kirby’s sense of polish and kinetic drama.
Some more Jesse for the soul. ;w;
He’s my DnD character - a fish monster raised and disguised as a human. You can find more art of him tagged ‘Jesse’ in my blog.
Armored Lady Monday
this is my bard, Kuikatzu!
the tritons from the player handbook always seemed a bit too basic, when theres so much posibilities for fish themed people, so i made her a bit more fishy instead of a bluer human with some fins yknow
im quite fond of this lil design, shes an absolutely unhinged college of swords bard, a very selfish one at that only using bardic inspiration for herself, but she is trying to become a better person dont worry about it
A dark triton from an Eberron DND game, wielding a trident and wearing pale crab chest and shoulder armor. Tritons, unlike merfolk, are mostly humanoid, with blue-green skin, fins along their forearms and calves, and webbed hands and feet. Dark tritons have tentacles from the waist down.
This dark triton worships the Ancient Deep Ones (kraken), so I gave it more bulbous eyes, a ridged forehead and nose, and arcane runes carved into its skin.
Dark tritons are considered cursed, but maybe it chose this life for itself? The deep ocean is a scary place, folks ally themselves with whoever looks the most powerful.
