I’m slowly working to redecorate this lotby my baby love @the-huntington that I am using for the Gregory Manor. I’ve kept the exterior and most of the interior walls, but trying to give the rooms a historical flair.
Another Downton Abbey hair from the earlier 1910s episodes. This one was a bit more difficult due to not very many reference images so there was a lot of pausing and blurry photos going on.
I’ve re-used the bun from my Margaret Set and the front of this hair is the base in the next 2 hairs I’m finishing up so there’s lots of recycling here.

A mid Victorian hairstyle for young girls that’s both historically accurate and adorable!
The bow is from the half-up hair in Cottage Living and the texture is in the same place which means that any overlays for the original hair (like thisby@ice-creamforbreakfast) will also work on this hair!

I came across this book published in 1888 about costume ideas for women attending parties. I fell in love with the mermaid costume with a tail bustle and decided I had to make it! The book gave some suggestions for colour combinations so I made 32 swatches of those and some other colours I liked. I’m not great with textures so the brilliant Ali (@theroyalthornoliachronicles) did some photoshop magic and made 20 incredible gradient swatches, bringing the total up to 52 swatches.
The bodice is from @sifix‘s Satine dress (here) and the seaweed comes from @astya96cc simblreen Mortal Kombat set (here). It was originally hair but I’ve repurposed it for the dress which I think has worked rather well!

Here are two 1880s hairstyles for your late Victorian sims. I wasn’t particularly familiar with this decade but I spent many hours researching and found I quite like it! I’ve now got some very detailed pinterest boards so I will be continuing with my Victorian 1800s decade hairs, just not in chronological order.
Both hairs are hat compatible but the Evelyn hair isn’t compatible with glasses because I ran out of uv space.

Now that I am not in school I try to find productive uses for my time. My second cousin Nick showed me and Lorenzo how to fish and I must say I really enjoy it. I even caught a trout! Papá never took me fishing when I was younger even when I’d ask him. My Abuelo Arturo was a fisherman and now I can see why!
Of course Lorenzo and I continue to remain as thick as thieves. I couldn’t imagine a life without him. We talk about everything together. Even girls, though not for long— no one’s caught my fancy.
We hope that your Christmas is a joyful occasion. Christmas does not feel much the same without Mamá and Papá— I miss them dearly, but Elsa and I manage with our little family. I hope that Olga and Ignacio are well. I hear Nacho will soon be starting school. As the war in Europe continues, may we all pray for peace on Earth and goodwill to men.
Elsa and I had a disagreement regarding the raising of our son, Victor. Now that he is out of school, my wife thinks that it would suit him to find work part-time. I believe he is still too young. He is but thirteen and has his whole life ahead of him! This came only before Elsa’s nagging over my usage of alcohol— though I do not believe it to be a problem. I only drink on occasion. I had to make it up to her somehow; despite our disagreements I am still deeply in love with her.
We could hardly keep our hands off of each other. She is still shy and demure as when I married her, but beneath that exterior lies an affectionate partner. It had been a while since we had had time to ourselves like this, and I enjoyed every moment.
This is absolutely not perfect at all, but at the time I did this, I couldn’t find anyone else who’d made this type of dress for TS4 yet, so I tried my hand at it anyway!
I used the Historian palette for the swatches, and as the Norse people actually enjoyed using dyes and colors in their clothing quite a lot, it was kind of impossible to think of every possible combination ever. So I didn’t. I only made 26 swatches, and as there are way too many variables going on with the design here, I included a .psd file as well!
There are two child versions, one with the brooches and necklace, and one without.

All of these use the exact same base textures.
Known issues:
The texture of the toddler version will bleed onto the legs.Sorry about that!! Either you should find some boots to cover it up (I recommend some of the TSM conversions found here), or you’ll have to edit the texture itself. Or find a way to embrace it. I don’t know.

If the boobs are big or perky enough, the necklace WILL clip. Trust me, I’ve attempted to fix this several times, but it just won’t behave. If this is a problem, just don’t give your viking lady a push-up bra. They didn’t really have them in the first place.
The normalmap texture of the dress itself is a tad bit too shiny for my liking, and there are visible squares if you look close enough.
This was obviously my first attempt, and I honestly don’t know what I’m doing. Making clothing is way more painful than making hair. I really do wish someone more talented than me would try their hand at viking re-enactment dresses that actually look interesting, but for now, this will have to do.
These poses call for a noble aristocrat or slave owner who punishes a delinquent servant or slave. Very well suited for showing the cruel reality of the Middle Ages, for example.
Back when I created my version of Hotel Beauharnais, I made a Limestone interior set out of @felixandresims CC but made them pretty hastily, so some items looked like they were made of play-doh. Iv now redone the textures and given the set the facelift it deserved.
