Cordoba, Spain
Cathedral- Mosque of Cordoba- in 1236, Córdoba was captured by King Ferdinand III of Castile in the Reconquista, and the mosque was turned into a Catholic church. Alfonso X oversaw the construction of the Villaviciosa Chapel and the Royal Chapel within the mosque. The kings who followed added further Christian features, such as King Henry II rebuilding the chapel in the 14th century. The minaret of the mosque was also converted to the bell tower of the cathedral. It was adorned with Santiago de Compostela’s captured cathedral bells.The most significant alteration was the building of a Renaissance cathedral nave right in the middle of the expansive structure. The insertion was constructed by permission of Charles V, king of Castile and Aragon.The Great Mosque’s conversion to a Christian Catholic church, the Catedral de Córdoba, may have helped to preserve it when the Spanish Inquisition was most active.Artisans and architects continued to add to the existing structure until the late 18th century.

Redwood National Park, USA
The park has served as a filming location for numerous films. The Endor scenes for Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi were filmed in the Tall Trees Redwood Grove in the northern part of Humboldt County. Scenes for The Lost World: Jurassic Park as well as the movie Outbreak were filmed at the nearby Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and at Patrick’s Point State Park.[44]
Redwoods’ also used as Jurassic Forests of Colorado in Walking with Dinosaurs in “Time of the Titans” and 2007 IMAX film Dinosaurs Alive!, where they used as Triassic Forests of New Mexico, which was based on Petrified wood in Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. The Muir Woods National Monument near San Francisco is featured in the 2011 Planet of the Apesprequel,Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Archaeologists in Turkey Find Neolithic Female Statuette Intact
The Neolithic site of Çatalhöyük, Turkey, consists of two settlement mounds — the remains of houses continually built over old ones — that have yielded many treasures since archaeologists began excavations in the 1960s. One of the most remarkable artifacts to emerge recently is a slightly weathered but fully intact, female anthropomorphic figure carved of marble — a rare find at the UNESCO World Heritage Site that illustrates one ancient craftsperson’s great level of skill. Archaeologists with the Çatalhöyük Research Project, which has explored the site since 1993, found it this summer in one of the site’s earliest structures; they estimates it dates to about 5500–8000 BCE.

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.
“The village that surrounds the great Kāṣyapa stupa is generally known by the name of Bauḍḍha. which in Tibetan is called Yambu Chorten Chenpo (Tibetan: ཡམ་བུའི་མཆོད་རྟེན་ཆེན་པོ།). The real name of the stupa in full is, however, Jya Rung Khashor Chorten Chenpo, which may be translated into: "Have finished giving the order to proceed with.” The stupa has an interesting history of its own which explains this strange name. It is said in this history that Kāṣyapa was a Buḍḍha that lived a long time before Shākyamuni Buḍḍha. after Kāṣyapa Buḍḍha’s demise, a certain old woman, with her four sons, interred this great sage’s remains at the spot over which the great mound now stands, the latter having been built by the woman herself. Before starting on the work of construction, she petitioned the King of the time and obtained permission to “proceed with” building a tower. By the time that, as a result of great sacrifices on the part of the woman and her four sons, the groundwork of the structure had been finished, those who saw it were astonished at the greatness of the scale on which it was undertaken. Especially was this the case with the high officials of the country, who all said that if such a poor old dame were allowed to complete building such a stupendous tower, they themselves would have to dedicate a temple as great as a mountain, and so they decided to ask the King to disallow the further progress of the work.When the King was approached on the matter his Majesty replied: “I have finished giving the order to the woman to proceed with the work.
