Koffing and Weezing, in their original conception, are little more than balloons filled with toxic gas. We wanted to add a new twist to the concept, so… have you heard of ballooning spiders? Some spiders can use web threads to float on wind currents, sometimes for many kilometers at a time!
In our version, Koffing and Weezing are spider-like Pokémon that float around on large balloons made of toxic thread. The face patterns work as an intimidation tactic.
Weezing are said to be made up of two Koffing that stuck together, but in our take, Weezing’s smaller head is in fact a juvenile Koffing that will bud off on its own eventually.
