Hi all! I recently launched the fundraiser for my second short film, May Be Unholy.
This dramedy is about an atheist who’s briefly convinced that witches (and divinity) are real, all because of a prank gone wrong.
I’m making May Be Unholy for many reasons. I’m largely inspired by my own relationship with divinity and how that has changed throughout my life, having been raised quite religious and then learning to redefine that relationship as I got older. Two, I absolutely love witch lore and am inspired to learn more about it, especially the historical and psychological parallels of “witch hysteria.” Three, I just want to see more films where women and non-binary folks can be chaotic and fun and imperfect. I feel strongly about comedy and spectacle being a universal experience for everyone.
I would be eternally grateful if you would be willing to donate to this project (we’ve got some cute merch as perks!) The fundraiser can be found on our Indiegogo page, where we describe the story in depth, as well as our production plans. Feel free to follow us on Instagram @maybeunholy. Please share with friends, family, and loved ones! Thank you so much!! <3 <3
