We love Japan and want to move there, but while we’re still working on this plan, we can at least enjoy holidays. Last month we spent in Tokyo, visiting Sam’s mum.
This time we didn’t do much traveling around Japan, we stayed in Tokyo for three weeks with some exceptions of visiting friends in Hayama and going on a little Weekend trip to Hakone for some nature, hikes and onsen experience.
Tokyo is such a vibrant and colourful city, it’s amazing how being so densely packed with buildings it manages to feel so green! Areas that are too small to plant a tree will most probably be filled with plants in the pots.
I also love how much is happening especially in the areas of arts and culture. After living in a quiet dutch city for the past 8 years I’ve definitely missed the energy of a big city.
In those three weeks we’ve ate a lot of amazing food, enjoyed time with family, saw quite a bit of art from both asian and european artists, did some collaborations and met new interesting people. I also did a kids’ workshop and visited a Japanese children’s publisher.
