The New Olympians is a highly-ranked team of heroes in training at the Kirby Beck Shuster Academy for Extraordinary Young People. Led by a descendant of the legendary Heracles and mentored by a king, they carry themselves with pride and self-confidence that frequently gives way to arrogance and vanity for many of the team. They are the chief rivals to the Young Brigadiers at KBS Academy.

- From Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Svetlana Kovac aka Winter Wind. Svetlana has an appropriately icy temperament to her powers, which include control over snow and icy winds. It takes a long time for Svetlana to warm to people but once she does she is an extremely loyal friend. Unfortunately, her haughty and icy demeanor tends to turn people off. Ironically, Svetlana hates the cold and wears thermal gear when using her powers.

- From Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jacob Free aka Animus. Jacob considers himself the rival of Ayesha Zeitoun, although she barely knows who he is. An impetuous joker, Jacob often annoys his teammates with his wisecracks, as well as his perceived lack of intelligence, which doesn’t stop him from having a superiority complex. Jacob has the power to channel the abilities of various animals and creatures, which grants him additional abilities based on the natural qualities of whatever animal he channels, such as flight for a bird or strength for a gorilla.

- From Athens, Georgia, Alexios Megalos aka Young Heracles. Alexios is a descendent of the legendary hero Heracles, regarded as the world’s first superhero, and inherited his ancestor’s great strength and heightened durability. Alexios is arrogant and self-assured due to his renowned ancestry, and looks down on most other heroes in training as his inferiors. A bully, he believes that it is only inevitable that he will rise to the top and graduate into the ranks of the Hero Brigade - and even more inevitable that he will eventually lead that hallowed team.

- From Boston, Massachusetts, Sean O’Toole aka Brother Nature. Sean is nervous and lacking in self-esteem, and seemed to quickly attached himself to Alexios for protection and to raise his own status, acting as Alexios’ yes-man and crony. In truth, Sean cares for Alexios deeply, and mainly goes along with his bullying in hopes of impressing Alexios and spending time with him. Sean has the power to control and grow plants, although he is deeply - and baselessly - afraid that he will gradually start to take on the physiology of a plant.

- From Garden Grove, California, Maya Dela Rosa aka Black Magic Woman. Maya is a talented sorceress, wielding magical forces often stronger than she can even manage. She affects a cool, aloof image, but in truth has a big heart and cares deeply for her friends and teammates. She acts as the voice of reason when Alexios starts grandstanding, and regularly stands up to him when he starts to play the bully, especially when he targets Joseph Savea, a friend of hers from childhood. She also plays the bass, and is a big metalhead.

- From Washington, DC, Abrihit Fasika aka Lady Lantern. The most outwardly friendly of the group, Abrihit ignores Alexios’ demands not to mingle with rival teams and frequently hangs out with the Young Brigadiers, and like Maya will chew Alexios out for bullying others. Born in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Abrihit is a first-generation immigrant to the United States. She possesses the ability to absorb and control light, allowing her to dim a room, blast opponents with white-hot light beams, or create highly-convincing illusions. She finds Alexios’ bullheadedness and competitiveness to be ridiculous, and her involvement in her team leader’s schemes is usually reluctant.

- Active in Houston, Texas, Jonesy McPherson aka Meteor Man. A former member of the original Young Brigadiers, Jonesy has an unsavory reputation, using his career as a hero to pick up women and sign elaborate marketing deals. His strength is unquestionable, however. Jonesy can fly, has superstrength, and can turn himself into an unstoppable force while flying in a straight line.

- Active in San Francisco, California, Harriet Jackson aka Monarch. Harriet possesses the power to command swarms of insects, and fly on her butterfly-like wings.

- Active in Seattle, Tacoma, and the Olympic Peninsula, King Kallesus Staseri aka Ocean Man. King of the underwater nation of Pacifica and mentor to the New Olympians, Ocean Man spends much of his time attending Pacifica’s colonies, such as the one in Puget Sound, and often fights superpowered threats in Seattle and across the Olympic Peninsula. Active since 1990, he is the most experienced hero in the Hero Brigade, and his dour demeanor is legendary. Ocean Man possesses superstrength, the ability to breathe underwater, and control over water itself, as well as the ability to communicate with ocean life, enhanced senses, and razor-sharp teeth.

- Active in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Buford Irons aka Bullseye. The greatest marksman in the world, Bullseye’s serious, severe personality contrasts with his somewhat silly costume, which features a bull’s head-shaped mask. While he is skilled with any ranged weapon, his go-to is the bow, and he uses a variety of trick arrows in battle.
