During “Week of Kokkuri,” I got a few inquiries about the absence of Fuji Writing in the posts, but it is actually a Chinese tradition, rather than Japanese. In this historic illustration from the 1880s, the mediums engage a forked #planchette that’s not unlike a Western #dowsing rod, and scribe messages in a sand-filled tray.
