Watching their friend being caned by the headmistress.

When they were at school, Jacqueline and Gillian had seen naughty schoolmates caned.  They were good girls and had never received the cane themselves  Now that they were at Roissy, they were caned when they were bad and sometimes just for the amusement of the members of the Chateau.  Although their father had been a member and had brought his second wife from there, he would have been horrified to learn his daughters had been sent there for ‘finishing’.
