It is in his workshop where the intellectual Gustavo Eznarriaga complements himself with the expert artisan of wood, who knows its properties, possibilities, and demands. The selection, the carving, the polishing, the polychrome variocolouring… carry with it a dialogue with each piece, a confrontation with its character: the balear pine tree worked while still green, manageable, fanciful, and that takes its toll when it dries whit its cracks and curvatures. The sabine, the olive tree: woods that are demanding when treated but that indulges the shape. Woods that let themselves do, sensual, or that are mute, and other authoritarian that insinuate an image, like a guideline for Gustavo Eznarriaga to work until he finds the figure hidden within. Woods that give more than what is being looked for and others that hide.
