» A figure skulked through the halls of the castle, finally stopping at the door of the fair Maid Marian. “Good morning, my beautiful.” the familiar voice tainted her sweet sleep as the door swung open, forcing the young girl awake. “Yes, good morning.” the daughter of the king cooed softly, brushing her hair from her face and smiling up at the man she was to wed. The man who’d killed her father and kept it a secret from the object of his desire. Killed in war, he said - died a hero, he exclaimed - I’ll protect you, he whispered. And she, being the wide eyed doe she was, believed each word the snake spilled from those wicked lips.

On the other side of the Forest, there was another waking in at the same very moment. “Aye, would ya get y’ass up, Robin, we need to get movin!” the voice shouted, the foot kicking his sleeping leader. “That’s no way to wake your —” the scent of cooking meat distracted the man from his train of thought, quickly tugging him from the tussled bedroll and making his way through the camp to claim a piece of the deer. “We need to eat and get moving.” the plump man huffed, waddling over to the horses, preparing them for the short journey. “After… I eat.” the man grunted, stuffing his face with the warm venison.

It had been nearly three months since the king had been claimed dead - the palace in shambles, the city itself falling into a pit of despair. The man who’d taken over the kings reign not suited to wear a chefs hat, let alone the crown. “Do hurry back, princess.” his voice gruff and hoarse - dark and cruel, but forced to be cheerful. The naive girl chose to ignore the shady undertones of her lovers voice. He was her protector, her fathers predecessor, a man she could trust. So she thought.

Every day, just past the break of dawn the young red headed maiden would take a walk through the forest - accompanied by a few guards of course. “Hello, Ser Cullen.” she gave a firm nod, wrapping her arm through his. “It’s good to see you my dear.” The man a second father to her, having grown up under his watchful eye. “And you, ser. How is your wife?” the melodic tone in which she spoke could lay a smile across the most weathered of faces.

“Hush you oaf.” Robin scoffed, slapping his moronic helper across the face. There were seven of the men waiting patiently behind the trees - knowing the princess would be along shortly. The man she was to marry was raising the taxes to unbelievable heights. These men - farmers, blacksmiths; they couldn’t support their families, they’d lost their farms, their homes. All at the fault of this wicked man. Robin had come up with a plan, kidnap the young girl and ransom her off. Not for gold, but for the lowering of the taxes. He was not a greedy man, but thinking for the whole.

It was a plan flawlessly executed. The guards dropped like flies, the princess falling to the ground after one of the buffoons ran up and whacked her across the head. Everything was going fine. Swimmingly. They had the girl, they’d left the note with the one, living - yet unconscious guard, and they were on their way to safety. Far from the castle to their camp deep within the woods. The plan was going exactly as Robin had said it would.

He hadn’t accounted for one thing, however. One thing that threw the entire plan into the pit. One thing that ruined the set up. He hadn’t planned on her being so beautiful.

Does Robin fall for the princess and set her free at risk of his own life and his men? Does he continue with the plan, ignoring the growing yearning to savor his sweet maiden? Does he kill the temptress that put a hitch in his plan? Does the princess fall for her captor, and convince him to run off with her? Only you know.
