Sometimes showing appreciation can be as simple as blowing up a few balloons. Today’s featured Collective submission is a great example of the power of simple acts.

Well, this didn’t happen THIS week, but it’s still along the theme of showing appreciation for people you love!

When it was my RA Krishane’s birthday in spring 2012, a group of us residents got together and made a big deal out of her birthday. She doesn’t really like to be the center of attention or make a big deal of things, so she was not expecting it at all. We made a bunch of posters for her door and the hallway across from her door, and we blew up a bunch of balloons that we put all over the floor in her room. She was so incredibly touched by it, and it felt great to show her how much we appreciated her.
