In the last five years participation in craft-related GCSEs fell by 25% and the number of higher education craft courses fell by 46%. Yet craft contributes £3.4 billion to the economy and is vital to our society, culture and economy. 

Today the Crafts Council is launching a manifesto to secure the future of craft education at the Houses of Commons: Our Future is in the Making: An Education Manifesto for Craft and Making.
