The City of the Straw Man. This ‘city’ remains almost entirely vacant for the majority of the year only to be inhabited for the druidic “Celebration of The Man” where the continent’s many druids leave their protected lands and waters to enjoy ‘civilized life’ The druids exchange paper tokens for ‘goods and services’, wear 'business costumes’ and engage in ‘careers’ such as ‘horse moving’, ‘throne sitting’ and ‘sword poking’. 

Visitors and dignitaries from foreign lands are occasionally invited to this bizarre display but often leave insulted by the drunken antics of druids with so many questions about ‘civilized life’. Most of the houses and structures are constructed crudely from wood and clay and much of the city has to be rebuilt prior to the festival each year. 

Many druids have left this ‘city’ with a sense of profound shame; only to return the next year…
