Who will cry for the little boy?
Lost and all alone.
Who will cry for the little boy?
Abandoned without his own?
Who will cry for the little boy?
He cried himself to sleep.
Who will cry for the little boy?
He never had for keeps.
Who will cry for the little boy?
He walked the burning sand
Who will cry for the little boy?
The boy inside the man.
Who will cry for the little boy?
Who knows well hurt and pain
Who will cry for the little boy?
He died again and again.
Who will cry for the little boy?
A good boy he tried to be
Who will cry for the little boy?
Who cries inside of me.

I cry for those suffering in silence while smiling publicly just trying to get through each day. For those who are grieving, left with the pain of not understanding these times that we are in. For those who are carrying the pain from loss, from traumas witnessed and/or experienced, from the grief of fatalities, and from unanswered justice and/or vindication.
⠀
I will cry for those who have been publicly named but also for the thousands who we have no idea about that have been brutally injured, and killed by law enforcement and racist, bigots because of the color of their skin. I will cry for those who have been wrongfully accused and convicted simply because they “match the description”. I will cry for my husband, son & daughters who I now have developed a concern for them being stopped, harassed or having an encounter with the police who are supposed to protect them. I will cry for every injured protester simply trying to cry out for justice.

When the unimaginable becomes unbearable and the fatigue of the pain wears on your willingness to endure… know that my tears for you are accompanied by prayers and faith for our complete healing & wholeness.
