That’s the “best stuff first” effect. I hope anyone who currently makes a living off NSFW tumblr starts making plans for alternative avenues, because the writing is on the wall. They intend to smother NSFW blogs with a “we’re giving people what they want!” pillow.

I won’t push the conspiracy, as I’ve never bought into it, but this is a PERFECT example of how shitty this “feature” is. I simply think Tumblr is either making deals with advertisers that should be revisited, or they really aren’t thinking everything through. Porn is such a huge part of Tumblr, and if we all leave it will be a huge problem for the company, and especially for their statistics. Shutting out that many users is suicide, and they know it. They need our user base if they expect their comapny valuation to stay stable.

Make noise! Piss of the devs and make them realise they’re fucking everything up! Let’s make this right the right way!!!
